Anybody else order the Kids See Ghosts vinyl? The order email said it was shipping early August but I’ve never gotten an update after that. I ordered it through my store and the guy said there’s no timetable for that and the pusha-t one

Just found Gang of Youths' "Go Farther in Lightness" on vinyl!
Popped into a shop right down the street while I was out for a walk. Thumbed through the racks and there it was. It had been impossible to find for a long time so I'm pretty excited!

I need new record stores in the following cities: St. Louis Columbia, MO Kansas CityPhilly I guess NYC too but I barely have time to go to Rough Trade Mills Record Company (i think you've shopped there before) - Best for new records, but their "new arrivals" used section is always worth going through. There is a "used indie" section hiding at the end of the new records. The "used rock" is not worth your time unless you're on the hunt for a lot of crap (and hey, sometimes I am!). Another hidden gem - the 45s on the back wall. Just tons of gold back there, I've quadrupled my singles collection there. Revolution Records - Pair this one up with Josey (see below) as they're right around the corner from each other. Rev is really small and you can probably knock it out in a half hour if you're not REALLY digging. The new vinyl here isn't anything to write home about - the used racks can sometimes carry some great stuff, at great prices. NOTE - if you want to trade any records in, do it here for store credit. Best bang for your buck. Josey Records - Only really shop here anymore if I know they have something I want. Everything's marked up a few bucks more than it is everywhere else in town, and the selection isn't much different. However, the jazz section here is maybe my favorite in town. There is a LOT to find here, but you have to be willing to dig for it, and then pay for it - both of which can be big asks. Vinyl Underground @ 7th Heaven - My favorite place to shop for records, but its a bit off the beaten path. Probably a solid 20 minutes from wherever you're staying in KC. It's in the lower level of a sex / Spencer's type shop, but not an intimidating one. Pretty much everything rules here - the used racks have plenty of worthwhile stuff, the new arrivals are always up to date and constantly rotating...I'm finding shit in the new racks that I didn't even know I wanted, and I shop there a lot. Mention you subscribe to their newsletter when you're checking out, they'll give you 20% off the most expensive thing you're buying. Works on box sets, too. NOTE: This place has very recently expanded, so if you've been before - go back. Vinyl Renaissance - This one is in Overland Park, not really THAT close, but if you've got the time it can be cool to check out. The new racks aren't worth much, but the "new arrival" used racks are constantly great. The biggest pro I've found about this place is that in terms of high-end or expensive records, the owner tends to market toward the older crowd. What I mean by that is that you might find a used, first-press of the German edition of Autobahn, priced at $100....next to a pristine used copy of "In Rainbows' for 8 bucks. They don't move the modern stuff as quickly, so it's cheaper. Honestly - probably not worth the trip out there, though.

I have a dead day in KC St. Louis. I might have an afternoon to hang around in Philly depending on what flight I end up on

If you haven't been to Mills, make it a priority.

I need new record stores in the following cities: St. Louis Columbia, MO Kansas City Philly I guess NYC too but I barely have time to go to Rough Trade For STL. Vintage Vinyl: By far the best known and largest stock. Centrally located in the Loop and near a lot of good bars and restaurants. Always great for new releases and could be a few surprises with how large of store it is. I'm mainly looking for rock, but they have a lot of jazz and hip hop. You've probably heard of it and maybe been there. Planet Score: This is a newer shop that I've had some good luck with. In Maplewood and another good bar district (yes, I usually begin/end record shopping with beer). Always has something that surprises me and the dudes who run it are super friendly. Euclid: Another large shop with two floors in Webster Groves, which is a bit outside the city. Try the bargain bins for some good finds. Skews toward rock and alternative, but they do a good job with new releases and local stuff. If those don't work, try Music Record Shop in Midtown or Dead Wax on Cherokee Street.

Strictly Discs is nice if my memory serves me right, and it’s across the street from Brasserie V which has some amazing beer and fantastic burgers. There was also a nice little coffee shop right across from Strictly Discs. No idea if it’s still there

Someone offered me $300 for my Vince Staples Summertime '06 special edition LP. Is that a good deal?

Just think of all of the terrible Mondo posters you could buy with that money.

Just got an email update on the Kids See Ghosts vinyl. Says it’s shipping in the next 3-5 Business Days. However on the line below it says shipments have been delayed until October 12th so now I’m confused

Second best Euclid trip I've made I think I need new record stores in the following cities: St. Louis Columbia, MO Kansas CityPhilly I guess NYC too but I barely have time to go to Rough Trade

The rarities section in here was really confusing honestly: very jazz heavy. I wasn't really impressed with the new arrivals either. However that Milk Music album was a neat little find, and the guys at the counter had no idea who they were, which made me feel cool. Avalon was $6. They had an original copy of Marquee Moon for $80 which I thought long and hard about but ultimately passed on. Josey Records - Only really shop here anymore if I know they have something I want. Everything's marked up a few bucks more than it is everywhere else in town, and the selection isn't much different. However, the jazz section here is maybe my favorite in town. Fuckin love that album even though it is not made for a dude like me at all. Prices didn't seem all that outrageous to me, although maybe that's because I've been shopping at smaller stores here for a while now. They also had a $10 OP of Zuma that I would've bought if I didn't already have a German pressing. Will definitely be going to Mills in KC and Vintage Vinyl/Planet Score in St. Louis when I'm back in a few weeks. Might stop at Hitt records in Columbia too. Also, my friends at Pinwheel were kind enough to hold this guy for me which I'm a bit excited about:

So glad you found good records in KC. I have been consistently spending money on both new finds, and used finds, at Mills - so def make it a priority.
(Your able self would notice this soon enough, but they've moved the '45s from the back wall to a much nicer racked section up front)

Would anyone be interested in me setting up a Lollaboard Record Swap thread?
I list records on discogs (priced to move, for the most part) or do a store credit trade-in batch of 3-4 decent records when I'm rotating things in and out of my collection. If we could each keep a post or a Google Drive list of records we'd be willing to swap, would there be enough meat there for us to work with?
