I was intrigued thinking they booked The Mummies. Turns out Here Come the Mummies are a different band, more funk than garage rock.
But also it turns out that there are not one but TWO bands doing the same “dress up like mummies” schtick. Honestly, more bands should do this.

I’ve probably told this story once on here before but when I saw Mavis Staples at the Peoria Blues and Heritage fest in 2016, Here Come the Mummies were also playing and we met a bunch of women in their 40s who were huge fans and had custom made “Here Come the Mommies” shirts on. They were absolutely ripped off of these cocktails served in giant novelty guitar-shaped cups, and they rocked. Still don’t know what the band sounds like

they honestly sound exactly like they play to that very demographic
they're pretty fun in a festy "yeah let's hang out at this set" way more than a "let's buy tickets to go see here come the mummies" way. the music is pretty bad but it somehow all works as an egregious joke.

Dandy Warhols, Afghan Whigs and The Hold Steady are on the 29th and don't conflict. That's tempting

I thought this fest was closer to Riot usually, but there probably wouldn't be much crossover anyways Hoping riot fest gets bleeding through, evergreen terrace and Shai hulud

They got Thundercat and Domi/JD Beck together but missed on either of the subs I wanted so I'm saving some money I guess.

I would spend $200 on Vulfpeck but negative money on all the other bands so this will need to be a pass for me.

that Saturday of that All Your Friends seems significantly bigger than that Friday, though I guess that's why they have Saturday billed first (which is weird and I hate it)
that Harvest Festival is nice
