Another announcement made by organizers is the festival will temporarily change locations and add a third night to their event. The new location will be the Upper Muny Grounds and Festival Plaza, and Lou Fest will kick off on a Friday.

Is the new location bigger ? Not sure but it'll sure fix the drainage issue. Last year it rained before the fest opened which meant it was a muddy mess everywhere.

BSS just posted this (the festival is partially run by Kevin Drew):
Feels like this is going to be the final Field Trip Music & Arts Festival... Come out and celebrate with us one last time. We'll bring the sun.
Pretty bummed about that, it was a good little fest.

I was unable to convince my group to do that at all this weekend. If the days were swapped we probably would have done Saturday but no one likes the current day lineup as it stands outside of the Pharcyde.

Yeah, like I said, if BSS and Feist were on the same day, I would have been there this year. The day I was at last year was pretty well crowded, so I'm kind of surprised they may get rid of it.
Just saw online too that the Toronto Islands are closed due to flooding through July, so scratch that from my list of suggestions for your visit there...

that's a pretty insane step up from previous years and they're going from a 2 or 3 indoor venues fest to a full multi stage outdoor fest.
good on them. if prices are just as reasonable as before, i can't imagine i won't go again.
thinking at this point i'm gonna use all my PTO in august and do Psycho Las Vegas -> Project Pabst Portland -> Crucial Fest and try to find time during one of the weeks to visit my cousin in Seattle.

Am I the only boarder going to Clusterfest this weekend (don't say viva because he's working the fest)?

Hanging at Bunbury for the weekend. I know the lineup is average, but 30 Seconds to Mars will be a guilty pleasure and I've never seen Muse. To the point though, this fest is really well done. Aside from the fact it's pretty much cash only, the layout of the fest works well, it's in a pretty location, and I haven't waited longer than 5 mins for food or beer, and beer isn't all that expensive. If they fix up the lineup next year I'll be back.

so for the third year in a row FPSF in Houston was impacted by weather and this time they had to cancel the second day.
assuming this fest is even around next year I figure at some point they might should consider finally discussing doing it on a different weekend

Yeah the fest is totally cursed. Last year it got moved to parking lot, FJM cancelled and they had an hour long evacuation that shortened headliner sets.
This year, Lil Uzi cancelled, Saturday was evac'd for an hour, and Sunday was pretty much cancelled since they evac'd at 3pm before Shins, Lorde, Solange and Flume and pretty much the entire lineup could play.

my hope was for that fest is to have a solid Saturday line-up, so I could go out Friday and enjoy NOLA for the night, hit the fest Saturday, brunch/lunch Sunday and then go home. This line-up is super promising for a solid Saturday. Really in general its pretty alright
also props to this fest for being cheap. It's only $140 for a 3 day pass
