Finally started S3 of The Bear last night. There were cheesy parts, but that has consistently been a hallmark of the show, it doesn't bother me anymore. Getting Thomas Keller to appear in the show was very cool IMO. Loved the NIN song and Ed Ved cover.

OK I just watched the first episode of the Bear, I see what you guys are saying in that it def takes itself too seriously, but for me that was outweighed by all of the dreamy food cinematography. The actual scenes themselves were sort of annoying, like just show me the pretty scallop again?? Also I completely forgot what happened last season, so half the time I was like wait why is she sad? what is he apologizing for?
The NIN music was not good and also too self serious!!!
Anyway my Bear recommendation is maybe just get intensely high. I am going to go make a hotdog.

We are about halfway through S3. I’m enjoying it. Did a full rewatch of S1/S2 leading up to this which definitely helped me remember some stuff I would have otherwise been wondering about.
As for the corny line in S3E1: my dad said the exact thing to me before I moved to New York. Maybe that means he was a sappy motherfucker, but the dialogue rang true for me. I don’t think it was unrealistic for Sugar’s character to feel that way.

I'm normally a Love Island UK watcher but I've heard Love Island US is better this year, can anyone confirm? Love Island UK is having a pretty mid-tier season so far, but Movie Night is just about to happen so Emma and I are excited. I've heard too that US is better this year, but I've yet to take that plunge. I'm mostly in it for the accents lol |

how bored i am with tv lately. It feels like it has been months and months with at most one show I want to watch at any given time (other than Jeopardy). Compared to feeling like I was never gonna make it through a backlog of shows from a couple years ago (maybe more than that). I assume this is the after effect of the writers strike? |

He actually looked terrified when she said she would leave with him because he KNOWS he isn't that serious about her. She has so much charisma and confidence for 23, she could easily have parlayed LI into a career as a presenter but I fear she's really dinged herself standing with this extremely mid man. |
