I was a little under the weather this weekend and that resulted in me lying on the couch bingewatching all of Friends from College. I thought it was decent, I was surprised when I looked at the AV club this morning and saw that the reviews were all pretty bad. It was worth a watch, at least. I laughed a lot.

Yeah AVC has kind of slipped. Sean O'Neal's random tirades and Ignaity's film reviews are the only pieces I still enjoy.
New Twin Peaks continued Lynch's streak of anti-binge-watchitude. I'm still loving the ride but part of me wonders what the series would've been like had Showtime stuck to their guns about the original nine-episode order.

Can you say why it's anti-binge without spoiling? I'm waiting until it's finished to watch if only because I want to rewatch the first two seasons since it's been the better part of a decade since I've seen them but I just don't have time for it rn.

The show is phenomenal but Lynch is deliberately trolling whoever wanted and expected S3 of the old Twin Peaks. Last night's episode was the twelfth of eighteen and we JUST now were reintroduced to a very central character from the original run. They appear for a total of five minutes and it is the most anticlimactic, unrewarding exchange... So I guess that's what I meant. It is a lot of slow-building, re-building the world and setting up for things that MAY happen. If Lynch is feeling generous. Because so far nothing has happened. That's maybe all I can say without spoiling stuff.

Posting this since I haven't seen GoT yet, but just so people know, HBO was hacked hard. Stuff is leaking out, including GoT spoilers (haven't seen them myself but I hear they're out there). HBO Go also seems to be down. Be careful.

I've been catching up on standup specials on Netflix this week. Sarah Silverman's new one is great, but I was really disappointed in Bill Burr's. There were definitely some great moments, but it was by far his weakest. Before this, he seemed to be entering Louis CK territory where every special was a home run.

We're most of the way through Luke Cage and it's really picked up. Still some not great writing and whatnot, but I've really enjoyed it.

Dude that plays Luke Cage also has a recurring role in The Good Wife and it's kind of remarkable how much muscle he must have had to put on for the role.

Did some netflix binging over the past week
Ozark is one of the worst shows I've ever seen but I cant wait for the next season 5 stars.
Friends from College was just straight up really bad and such an immense waste of a good cast
halfway thru Glow but am very much enjoying it and seems to be getting better. could use way less "jokes that aren't actually jokes just naming things from the 80s" but all of the performances are great and it treats wrestling super seriously which rules.

I don't think I realized the new Wet Hot dropped. The trailer looked really good but First Day of Camp was pretty uneven
