I watched Wet Hot. Enjoyed the whole thing front to back but understand why others don't. They probably should've taken a bigger leap with the narrative and some of the new characters don't add much. John Early is the MVP.
Im pretty sure you can get a 30-day free trial on the Epix website for Get Shorty but you might want to wait a month or so so you can watch all of the episodes. I met the guy who started Epix somewhat randomly (some old HBO exec or something) and I remember him telling me they were paying like a billion dollars for a Madonna special in like 2012 to open the network and I figured there was no way it was going to last but I guess here it is except it seems like the only things that it has done is produce a couple established b-level stand up specials that nobody has seen because they were on Epix

wasn't there a Louis CK special on Epix once i remember their was some controversy about Patton Oswalt and the Epix promotion (they changed the release date at the last minute or something?) Since than they've basically done a couple Jim Norton specials and than people who are too expensive for Netflix yet not enough interest for HBO (Michael Ian Black, Tom Papa, Craig Ferguson) |

speaking of comedy specials has anyone watched Joe Mande's Netflix one? I've liked him in passing and when I saw a short set of his once but not sure whether I'd go for a whole hour

it's p good. not incredible but enjoyable. its his first special so yr likely to have heard some of the material before if yr familiar with him. Not a huge fan of how alot of specials now do half assed framing devices that don't really add anything. Lucas Bros one was the only one I can remember that was successful

Yeah I liked it but didn't love it. I had really high expectations though since he was amazing opening for John Mulaney a couple years ago.
But like rango said, you'll probably know a lot of material. He just doesn't have an hour's worth of great material yet, though few comedians do.
EDIT: Just remembered how amazing the Mike Huckabee story is. I upgrade the special from a B- to a B.

man some of the dramatic beats in the back half of Glow are v v dumb but i still love all the "we're putting on a show elements

I somehow never watched lady dynamite despite being a really big bamford fan and than theres so many netflix shows that I just kind of forgot but I watched 5 episodes last night and its so good and Im sleeping like 3 hours a night which is cool.

I'm through episode 6 of Ozark, and I'm pretty invested. Definitely looking forward to a resolution, but now that I know there's a season 2, I'm expecting some kind of crappy cliffhanger.

For real I'm wondering if when Netflix picked up AD the cast had to agree to star in all their other original shows too. I was wondering why Flaked existed and than I saw that Mitch Hurwitz exec-produced it so he probably has immediate approval especially if its a mid-budget show Ozark on the other handhas an insane amount of pedigree in its production staff/cast and they all are outstandingly horrible. |

I watched first four episodes of Ozark a few weeks ago, but haven't gone back to watch the rest yet. I thought it was pretty good. Not on the same level as Fargo or Better Call Saul, but entertaining.
