We're nearing the end of the decade. What year was best? Why? Why not?

2010. Biased because it was the year that I really dove into music but off the top of my head mbdtf, this is happening, age of adz, gemini, causers of this, the drums, forget, champ, high violet, total life forever, the list goes on.
Would probably go...
2010 2012 2013 2016 2015 2017 2011 2018 2014

I think the worst year is 2011. While some great releases, none of them have really made an impression on me.

Xxx and era extrana and take care are the saving graces.
Also kinda weird to do this with drake and ye being terrible people now when they might single handedly be the two most influential

God it's impossible to vote against 2010 because even though it's obviously aged the longest its also got some legitimate all-timers in there huh
2012, 2013, 2015, and 2017 are all up there too for me

Modern Vampires of the City, Yeezus, Monomania, Immunity, Kveikur, Free Your Mind, Woman... Really solid year at the top for albums.

I'll be the first vote for 2012 - Swing Lo Magellan, Good Kid MAAD City, Channel Orange, Idler Wheel, Bloom, R.A.P. Music are all still big favorites of mine. I also thought Days was 2012 when I voted but turns out nope

So going by sheer volume, 2010 is easily the most obvious choice - Kanye, Deerhunter, Titus, Janelle, Beach House, Women, No Age, and the last great Arcade Fire record imo. But 2016 has 22 A Million, Moon Shaped Pearl, Blonde, Malibu, the last Tribe album, Teens of Denial, and Blackstar. Definitely my two favorite years.
Surprised there's been no votes for 2015 so far, those Kendrick and Vince records are top 10 of the decade material.

Not to mention 2015 is Carrie and Lowell, I Love You Honeybear, and Beat the Champ, and 2016 for Nonagaon Infinity, Whitney, Steve Gunn, Heron Oblivon, Thee Oh Sees, William Tyler, Skeleton Tree.

2014 is a bunch of really enjoyable albums that weren't that impactful in any way. Though, that year did give us a Silver Mt. Zion.

hmmm 2014 is good. my favorite albums by Grouper and Iceage, plus the return of Spoon, the last decent Cloud Nothings record, Ex Hex, SVE, our first taste of Vince Staples, a new Annie Clark, Angel Olsen, Perfume Genius... just to name a few...

i think 2013 has the most heavy hitters with albums that i still go back to all the time
Yeezus, Trouble will Find Me, The Next Day, 20/20 Experience, Push the Sky Away, AM, MVOTC, Hesitation Marks, Like Clockwork..., Surgical Steel, etc.
edit: oh man lots of great metal that year too. Kvelertak, Locrian, Red Fang, Ocean, DEP...
