Feels like since we're through Q1 we can probably start this up, or at least I'm going to and y'all can cope. The below are 5 albums that I think are dope that you might've missed:
Heroes are Gang Leaders: The Amiri Baraka Sessions
Hey since I'm pretending to be a jazz expert now that I own some Coltrane records, here's a really fantastic jazz/spoken word album. It is on the long side but given the namesake of the album, it's quite the document that fits well with these times of everything being messed up. "The Shrimpy Grits" is my favorite.
Lil Aaron- Dark Matter EP
Why did I get into emo rap? Why did anyone? Do you know it's here to stay? Do you know that this dude has written tunes for both Big Boi and Charli XCX? Well you do now. It's 17 minutes of someone you'll probably be hearing a lot of going forward, so you might as well brush up. The fact that it's good is a bonus. "Dark Matter" is my favorite.
The 1865- Don't Tread on We!
They're signed on the same label as Run the Jewels, but got some hardcore punk vibes in addition to biting, politically conscious lyrics. At 30 minutes, you'll be coming back wondering what the hell you just got bashed over the head with. "John Brown's Gat" is my favorite.
The Snakes- s/t
My brother turned me on to this band, and he doesn't like rock anything. You know how arbee always used to ask where the rock bands went? I found one. Think wolf parade with some more synths. "Solid Income" is my favorite.
Qari- Operation Hennessy
Chicago rapper with something that I'm surprised has never yet caught on with this group. He's got a collaboration with Mick Jenkins on here as well as a pretty neat linear story (or at least I enjoy the story elements of it) for a 20 minute album. "Billy Blanks" is my favorite.
Talk about some albums and write some reviews, unless you don't want to, that's cool too

my metal version:
Seer - Vol. 6 very Pallbearer-esque psychedelic and progressive version of doom metal. both clean vocals and screaming. lots of pretty piano and acoustic arrangement between crushing riffs
Vanum - Ageless Fire i didnt love it at first but it gets more interesting with every listen. complex layering of black metal riffs with lo-fi screaming
Candlemass - The Door to Doom classic old school melodic doom with soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooaring vocals from the original singer. cheesy as fuck but in a good way
Everson Poe - Four Deaths my buddy's blackened sludge metal project. prettay prettay pretty heavy and dark
Devil Master - Satan Spits on Children of Light a bunch of tweens playing black metal riffs with breakdowns. it's like if code orange had grown up listening to Skeletonwitch and it rips
Oozing Wound - High Anxiety the goofiest serious metal album that just revolves around the chicago mentality of shitting on everything around you as well as yourself

Y La Bamba - Mujeres About half of the album is in Spanish, half in English. The Spanish tracks are the best part by far, my favorite is the title track (spoiler tagging the yt clip since the artwork has a drawing of a boob and who knows someone may get in trouble because of it) LIP TALK - D A Y S P4k gave this a pretty decent review, I thought it'd do alot better around here. Guess the main singer did backup stuff in Okervill River. She's pretty good, it's a big mix of R&B, pop, indie and electronic.

"Heroes are Gang Leaders: The Amiri Baraka Sessions"
The now late Baraka did a poetry reading with John Giorno and the now late Wanda Coleman in spring '94 at Columbia College. It was "lit."

This dude's got a pretty good Tame Impala-esque sound. You should probably listen to this instead of watching the webcast of actual Tame Impala, who you have seen at least 3 times at this point in your posting career. Plus, it's self released. Support independent music on a streaming service. "Get Out" is my favorite.

blackdresses.bandcamp.com/album/thank-youToronto based synth/wave/I dunno band. Reminded me of Nine Inch Nails with more of a political bent. There's 666 in their handle so I assume they're down with satan. "Dog Shit" and "Death/Bad Girl" were my favorites

Just throwing some more stuff out there that various people might like
Erika de Casier- Essentials
If you're looking for your Norwegian pop music to actually be good, here's the artist for you. Reminds me of Lana a bit but much more chill. Gorilla vs. Bear's #2 on the year, they have more and better words than I do about this album. You should listen!
Patio- Essentials
All my albums are named Essentials today! Anyway for all the love Control Top and Empath are getting this one, the best album of the three, has not been. Get it together, board! It's 26 minutes of good power pop/punk, and it's on Fire Talk, so you know it's good. Also the only non-local band playing the Fire Talk showcase at Thalia at the end of August, which everyone should go to.
P!nk- Hurts 2B Human
I'm confused too by this one. Did my girlfriend get me into P!nk? Ladies and gentlemen, you better believe it. Here's the weird thing though: P!nk has been undergoing a late decade renesance that absolutely everyone is ignoring in favor of...well, other pretty bland top 40 stuff (lookin at you, Katy!). Anyways I'm not gonna make an upsell on P!nk for you, but I will say that if you enjoyed the Kesha album from a few years ago, this one is also right up your alley.
Kornel Kovacs- Stockholm Marathon
This might belong in the Beep Boop thread, but Kornel makes beeps and boops out of Sweden. It's pretty ear-catching stuff for music more on the ambient side, and the assist/treatments (I think?) from duo Rebecca & Fiona really add a nice layer to it. If you're a fan of Tycho's stuff, you'll like this. I also stole this one from Gorilla vs. Bear, so quit looking at me like that
Badge Epoque Ensemble- s/t
I know next to nothing about this other than it's good. More psychadelic than jazz, and I think they might be from Brazil? Anyway if you're looking for a quick hitter of an album (30 minutes!) that you'll discover new things about every time, c'mon down! Think Khruangbin but with more instruments.
