I just like Doggystyle.
And I liked the Smash Mouth album I've heard maybe a thousand times since I was 5 more than I like a Nas album I've heard like 4 times total.
I'm a mess!!

if anyone is still listening, make room for talk talk's final masterpiece laughing stock! one of the earlier examples of post-rock, but it has a more full, lush sound combining elements of jazz, experimental, and singer-songwriter type sounds in its mix.  |

Hey chvrch - quick question: Are we counting The Beta Band's The 3 EPs or nah? Because that'd def have a spot on my list if so, but idk if Champion Verses is strong enough on its own.

I made a document of like 300 albums when we first starting talking about this like a year ago. Just ran a list of stuff, tore it up, and pieced it together. I actually think it's a pretty good representation of how I look at the 90s. A few notes:
There are more women/POCs in the list of stuff that missed the cut then there are on my actual list. Whassup with that, Tweet?
Rap/R&B as a whole is a big blind spot for me, and I meant to investigate more this summer in terms of 90s stuff. I did not.
There's a lot of stuff that I told chvrchbarrel I would write reviews on, that I did not, that did not make the first 100 cut.
I hope the rest of the board's cumulative lists help balance out a bit the white-male heaviness I'm seeing right now*
