Bon Iver is playing two sets, not two separate shows. Do you think they're going to give him like a 2 and a half hour slot? I kinda expected it to be split up.

"2 unique sets" makes me think the 2 sets will be at different times/shows rather than just slotting him 3 hours on a stage where he takes a break in the middle. like he definitely wouldn't play Skinny Love twice if it was just 26 songs with a break in the middle so you wouldn't have to say unique

In 2012 they billed Phish as two separate sets, and just gave them like 4 hours closing out the fest on Sunday night (I believe they did the same with Dead & Co in 2016, but I wasn't there for that). In 2008 or 2009 (too lazy to look it up) when Phish played the fest on different days it was billed as two separate shows.

I don't think that makes any difference. I think it's unlikely Live Nation were willing to spend the money it would take to get Bon Iver to spend the entire weekend in Manchester.

bon iver isnt a jam band, though. if they're playing two unique sets, you'd imagine they wouldnt run one right after the other.

I assumed 2 Bon Iver sets meant a "normal" one and a "late night" one.

I assumed 2 Bon Iver sets meant a "normal" one and a "late night" one. I could see this scenario happening on the same day. Maybe an acoustic pre-headlining set on What and then an electronic late night set on What or Which.

Like I could do bon iver, anderson, chic, brockhampton, first aid kit, and Moses sumney.
Stick around Sunday for future, bss, thundercat, then head out before the killers.

i thought as a whole the lineup looked pretty lowkey good if you ignored the headliners. i think it'll look that way again when it's got a schedule.
split up as a daily lineup i think it looks bad.

Yuck.
When the Killers is the band I'd want to see most on a day, that's not good. Jungle not getting late night is a shame.
Any hope for the Sheryl Crow Medicine Show at the Opry is squashed by placing them all on a different day.
Pigeons Playing Ping Pong is the only band I know booked for Thursday. Am I that much out the loop nowadays? I miss days that Thursday at Bonnaroo was basically Pitchfork Lite.

Worst ever, for sure. Also, this confirms Bon Iver is not playing two separate shows.

I mean, Thursday was always supposed to be up and coming, the fact that I don't recognize the names isn't inherently a bad thing. I feel like they just got lucky to catch buzz bands at the right time in slotting them there.

To be clear, I'm not saying this is a good Thursday. I haven't researched the names at all.

They always seem to get more prominent billing at Roo, Hangout, Forecastle etc.
