Moon Taxi is 5th on their day. Moon Taxi is playing Durty Nellies in Palatine on Saturday Long live Roo Would you say Bonnaroo put 'em up too high?

I mean, Thursday was always supposed to be up and coming, the fact that I don't recognize the names isn't inherently a bad thing. I feel like they just got lucky to catch buzz bands at the right time in slotting them there. This is definitely not true. Yes Thursday acts have blown up since they played but they were much bigger acts than listed here. Comparable acts for this year would be: Phoebe Bridgers Moses Sumney Big Thief Jorja Smith Sigrid Wizkid I'm totally blanking on hip hop level acts but yeah

They also use to schedule some established acts on Thursday like Ty, Japandroids, Pusha T and Real Estate.

Right. I thought that there was usually some sort of recognizable headliner. Didn't RTJ play one year? Other than those Pigeons that keep showing up everywhere, I don't see anything even remotely comparable.

Not to mention new acts that had already achieved some success like Alabama Shakes and Alt-J.

I can't imagine this lineup moves a lot of tickets. Tinfoil hat theory is that the return to form on Sasquatch is a test for Bonnaroo in the next few years. Book some cheaper headliners but more in the vein of what the fest used to be. Just a thought, probably crazy

They are based out of Nashville but Durty Nellies is Durty Nellies and they couldn't even sell out the 800 tickets.
It's the equivalent of Lolla having Local H be a sub for Jack White, which I now really want to happen

Just a thought, probably crazy I think at this point they are content with selling 50-60k per year with a smaller talent budget especially since they own the farm.

Yes, they have always booked up and coming acts on Thursdays, but in previous years they grabbed bands that have had a considerable amount of buzz building or had just released an album getting rave reviews. They booked Vampire Weekend for Thursday right around the time A-Punk was getting played between shows on MTV. The issue is that 90% of the lineup is now up and coming bands. So they put the few good ones that actually have critical appeal on Fri-Sun and the ones likely going nowhere or that some intern recommended on Thursday. They should have put Japanese Breakfast and Everything Everything into prime time after sunset Thursday night slots. Instead, they’ll probably get early in the day tent sets and full potential will be lost in the sweat and sun.

Bonnaroo just announced a new payment plan where the first payment is very small and then it goes up from there. Going after that "got behind on my payments so my ticket was repo'd" money
Things must be going really well

I hadn't seen the day by day breakdown before today. I still think this is not as terrible of a lineup as some of you are making it out to be, but Thursday is bleak.
