Don't at all think it's out of line to have that reaction after Mandalay.

It was irresponsible for Eminem to make the violence in his music jarring, he should have made the violence more playful!

I do like the idea of this person who went to Bonnaroo who has no idea who Eminem is but loves waiting in line for a $9 corn dog and spends $400 on a wristband to do so.

I've had many panic attacks at shows I don't think any are Eminem's fault, which is what the people in the article who are interviewed are saying

As the article states, that gunshot sound effect is not new to his set. Not sure what to think here, maybe a warning on the screen in advance of the show is a fair compromise?

Those Bon Iver sets looked like an awesome time. Probably a great night overall with Anderson Paak > Bon Iver 1 > Bon Iver Superjam

One of the Bon Iver sets featured multiple Francis and the Lights songs which makes it the worst set of the weekend.

also if you dont see the inherent racism and classism in a upper middle class space calling for a rapper to divorce himself and apologize for the violence in his music that represents and comments on his upbringing and surroundings and just play the songs where he sings about j-lo's butt and calls just timberlake gay or whatever because it makes the upper middle class space feel more safe thats on you.
Not far from when Paid Dues was at Charter One and the local yacht club was so mad at blacks having amplified freedom of speech that they organized outside the venue and attempted to honk thru the Snoop Dogg set the next weekend but ended up honking through the Shins instead (you couldnt hear it)

Extremely close to 2014 where the primarily white bonnaroo openly mocked Kanye yelling homophobic slurs at him for doing like one 7 minute rant (and calling for circles 400x) in fairness and than praising Jack White for drunkenly ranting for 3 hours about nothing as a rock and roll savior

My issue with Eminem is not the violence in his music, and really i don’t have much of an issue with him. I think the problem was using gunshot effects that can be heard by people who can’t hear the music is a bit of a tone deaf move. Even if it was just through the normal sound system, I don’t think it’s a problem by any means. All I know is that I’ve read several reports that people who weren’t at that stage could only hear what sounded like gunfire, which is obviously not a great situation to put people in.

Or if Rob Zombie played and people heard a danged Dragula was at the festival!
*just saying theres a reason that these complaints happened at a cost prohibitive camping festival in the middle of tennessee that caters towards the glamping crowd and not once in 6+ years of using the same pyrotechnics at festivals and concerts across the world and its not just timing*

And i guess its important to clarify from a personal perspective that I'd rather be shot than have to listen to teh last like 3 Eminem albums again.
