Love them putting more effort into Thursday. The undercard is pretty good, the headliners do nothing for me.
The idles billing is wild. I thought they were getting pretty big, guess not.

it is so goofy that neal francis gets billed as 'francis comes alive' when his set has nothing to do with the frampton performance whatsoever

I like Friday and Sunday, and that Superjam.
Surprising to see Roisin Murphy on a festival lineup after all the shit that went down with them last year.

I don't know what he's trying to convey with this billing honestly. Does anyone? Will reiterate headliners aren't particularly exciting but I don't think any of them is a miss. Fred would be a great end to the weekend

Now that's how you book an undercard! Headliners aren't my thing, but there's loads of great music to be seen throughout that lineup. Seriously, re-viewing this and the subheadliners aren't even that good! But because they put some actual effort into research/booking the undercard, the whole thing looks pretty solid! Please take notes, Boston Calling / Lollapalooza / anyone who'd rather book the LiveNation CFO's nephew's band than, like, Irreversible Entanglements.

Some decent undercard acts but those top lines are bad. Big miss for me and especially with the price increase.

I'd have fun at that fest, specially if scheduled correctly. Friday and Saturday could both use a line 2 name I like more, though Sunday has Isbell and CRJ which makes its line 2 awesome. But top to bottom plenty of stuff I'd enjoy.

Please take notes, Boston Calling / Lollapalooza / anyone who'd rather book the LiveNation CFO's nephew's band than, like, Irreversible Entanglements. I stand pretty firm that most of these are agent favors, based on experience. Shit trickles down. When the stuff at the top is stuff you like, you're bound to like smaller bands that they also represent. The overall general taste of this board is no longer interested in the typical festival headliner. To get those headliners, promoters are also taking on 'baby bands' from their agents to seal the deal. There's a lot more diversity to bigger festival lineups like Bonnaroo or Lollapalooza, for sure, but once you know the specific rosters of certain agents, the slightly smaller festival lineups all start to look a lot smaller. A lot. Promoters aren't just getting shitty stonewalling deals like "We'll ONLY give you Ed Sheeran if you also take The Asshole Wrinkles!!!," its more of a literal business pitch, saying, "The Asshole Wrinkles are going out opening for OneRepublic in the fall, so you're going to get them before they absolutely blow up, and every time they come back through the market I'm going to bring the deal back to you, to put it in a club or an arena or whatever festival you want. Also... you do have to book them if you want me to knock $5k off the Ed Sheeran price to get him into your budget." Like any venture, some of these work out better than others, but some agents are better salesmen than others, too. Editing to add: I think that festival promoters are, on the whole, "curating" slightly less than people assume. They are in the business of booking acts that sell tickets. Agents are in the business of convincing promoters that their acts sell tickets.

Too bad Goose is on a break while they look for a new drummer, or we coulda played that game too! I've seen Patti Smith and Patty Smyth on separate occasions, but no one has ever had the stones to put them on the same festival lineup. Same for John McLaughlin and Jon McLaughlin.

Man I feel like this is nightmarish, idk No need for uncertainty. This is hot trash. People need to remember that like 4 great bands and 6 okay ones over 4 days and an average temperature of a bajillion degrees is still a bad festival

Gotta pair it with "Life in Technicolor II" from the Prospekt's March EP. Then you've got the good shit. Plus it has the Jay-Z collab track too lmao
