Yeah. I've listened to it maybe twice. Also wasn't a fan of Sleep Well Beast. They were easily one of my favorite bands at the beginning of the decade but after two meh albums and seeing them I think 7xs now I've definitely moved on.

It’s fine - there’s like 4-5 good to great tracks on here but the rest feel like National painting-by-numbers. Not sure I’ll ever go front to back on this one again.

The only National album I've ever listened to the full way through was The Boxer.
It was very good.

No. My initial listen I was disappointed but it's grown on me a ton. It has a couple filler tracks for sure that it'd be better off without, but it has a lot of tracks that are up there with their best stuff.
I've gone back to it a ton.

I think it's a reasonable effort from them, the only thing I don't care for is the moments they use a backing choir. Some great cuts though - Rylan, Light Years, You Had Your Soul With You, title track, and Not In Kansas - but there's some misfires. I think some trimming would have been helpful, but in the end it's a solid record by them, tho definitely my least favorite of theirs.

3 of their best songs ever and the rest is kind of ambient demo sounding. im sure after a dozen more listens i'll like it, but that's partially because i'd end up snoozing through the first 11.
