I like having books, records, movies, etc around, and I prefer a less sterile environment than a lot of the minimalist living provides, but that last picture isn't a good representation of what I like either. I have everything on shelves with good organizational systems for it.

I can't stand houses that feel like no one lives in them.

I have kids, so I'm maximalist by default. Tons of toys and crap everywhere.

I can't stand houses that feel like no one lives in them. Same here... feels like walking in a Museum or an hotel room... so... anonymous

I can't stand houses that feel like no one lives in them. Coincidentally this feeling has made it incredibly difficult to look at houses since by and large in this area people move entirely before selling.

Big fan of minimalism in pretty much everything except houses.

I have everything on shelves with good organizational systems for it. Books are definitely my guilty pleasure even though I now try to give out fiction books after reading them unless I find them exceptional... I've got 4 Ikea Billy bookshelves full of them, plus piles here and there that would easily fill at least a 5th one

That last picture seems pretty organized tbh Books not on shelves or a coffee table stress me out a little Ha! We have no space to put a 5th Billy bookshelf so we do have a bunch of book piles here an there... neat piles, that said, but piles nonethess I try control myself (on top of buying almost only second hand books... ditto for clothes) but my bf and I recently went to library booksale in a posh neighbourhood where all books, often pristine and super new, were $1, $2 or $3, and though I "only" bought 9 of them, my bf came back with 45...

A few days after a deep clean of my apt, there will still be like a dozen books in random places somehow. I need one more bookshelf

I guess that I like design and wall art a bit too much too I have managed to declutter and systemize our flat a lot in the last few years, but don't think I'll ever become fond of a minimalist decor

I’d like to think I’m a minimalist, but in effect I guess I’m a maximalist. With a bigger space I think our shit would look more reasonable.

My two most-listened-to artists since December are probably Philip Glass and Judas Priest, so I’ve really been operating at both poles lately.

This is what I thought when I moved from my 12m2 student studio to a 2-bedroom flat but 15 years a 3 apartments later, I ended up living in a similarly maximalist space.. onky one with more books, wall art, clothes and Nintendo plushies I guess 😏
