I'm sure there are plenty of other good choices on streaming services, this is what I immediately noticed as available. And Detective Pikachu was important enough to make the cut, is what you're saying. Serenity, The Irishman, Detective Pikachu. Three equally good films

HuluBooksmart The Beach Bum Greener Grass Wild Rose Luce The Nightingale Plus One Honeyland Amazon PrimeTransit High Life Midsommar Under the Silver Lake For Sama Climax Serenity Honey Boy The Last Black Man in San Francisco The Report The Souvenir Peterloo NetflixThe Irishman Marriage Story Atlantics Rolling Thunder Revue Knock Down the House I Lost My Body HBO GoUs Detective Pikachu Her Smell Criterion ChannelDiamantino I'm sure there are plenty of other good choices on streaming services, this is what I immediately noticed as available. added a few to your list I still need to watch Detective Pikachu, I guess.

The more damning indictment is my steam playtime, which thankfully only about two of you can see.

I'm actually more apt to be dismayed by how well Climax will probably place on our list, as that was probably my least favorite movie I saw from 2019.

Look, if I'm not the one to painstakingly create a simulation of 11:59 A.M. of Saturday, Lollapalooza 2009, who is?

I'm actually more apt to be dismayed by how well Climax will probably place on our list, as that was probably my least favorite movie I saw from 2019. i really should've given Climax another shot before finalizing my list. i liked the visuals of it seeing it in theaters but a lot about the pacing and general leaps in the story just turned me off halfway. but can i understand why people were into it, given how i like his previous films. i dunno if there's anything that'll be near our top this year that will actually bother me, but that's also because i didn't seek out some of the ones that just didn't look like they would appeal to me this time around. which isn't a great way to go about the process but also i saw 50 movies from 2019 so w/e

i know im basically blacklisted from posting about movies ever again but for anyone who hasn't blocked me yet,
i can't recommend Shadow enough. it's on Netflix now. Zhang Yimou's best since the Hero/House of Flying Daggers era -- crazy fucking battles and gorgeous shots and a really fantastic plot that's kinda convoluted but not impossibly silly.
really good drunk Friday action film if y'all happen to be at home tonight.
