Just spent about half of my workday so far coming up with the enemy roster for today's session, and reworking the goal of LMoP to be more exciting and plot-hooky.
I've got a session on Saturday where our party just got help from some Hill Giants to build an airship.
Then Tuesday, my roll20 group needs to figure out what to do with a family of carbuncles in order to get a gem to save some mercenaries.
And my solo pbp goblin just tried to climb up onto a display case and failed dramatically.
It honestly took writing this all out to realize exactly how much I've dove into this in the last two months.

My goodness.
I DM'd for the first time ever last night, and I think my campaign (loosely based off of Owen Pallett's album Heartland and EP Spectrum, 14th Century) is off to a pretty good start!

That idea sounds fascinating! Can you give us any more details? Glad to hear the first time went well, I know I was super intimidated by the concept beforehand. I feel really lucky, I'm always worried the next session is going to be the first bad one, and I continue to be very pleasantly surprised by how well they go. And slightly unrelated, but I saw you listening to that pop up in Spotify, and it reminded me to listen to him, so thanks for that.

I can DM you the intro text I used last night, I feel embarrassed sharing it publicly, haha.

Last night, the high/low point of our session:
Our wizard was invisible, and was pretending to be a goblin god. He convinced a follower that he was a holy chosen one, and he would face a test. At the same time, unbeknownst, the rest of the party decided to charge into the room. What followed was the most Benny Hill nonsense.
The cleric missed. Our fighter critically failed, accidentally shooting the invisible wizard. The rogue missed. The goblin missed. The other fighter missed. The wizard stole a golden censor, with it just floating up and then disappearing the middle of the battle. The cleric critically failed, falling down and taking the rogue with her. The fighter missed. The rogue missed. (At this point, the Goblin called out a thanks to his god for clearly protecting him.) The goblin missed. The other fighter, finally, mercifully, critically hit, and beheaded the goblin.
"Was that really that hard?"

Our wizard cast fireball for the first time, and he killed 14 goblins, four hobgoblins, and a doppelganger.
