This season has been excellent once again. VM Varga is right up there with Lorne Malvo as far as villians go, and the performances of Carrie Coon, Ewan McGregor, and David Thewlis have all been a pleasure to watch. Can't wait to see how this wraps up.

Bump.
I'm cross-posting, from the Boob Tube thread. Every season of this show has been excellent, for those who haven't watched I highly recommend, especially if you are a fan of the movie.

didn't even realize this thread existed. Excellent show indeed, not a bad season yet. Really couldn't tell you which one I liked the most as they've each been great. This one takes place partially in Kansas City.

Bump. Forgot about this thread of such little use. This is where me, cosmo, & Timbo can come to talk about the new season of Fargo. Cross-posting from boob-tube, I watched the two episode premier last night, it was very Fargoey (in a good way). A nugget that Alan Sepinwall pointed out: This season likely contains the origin story of season 2's Mike Milligan, who is presumed to be Satchel Cannon, who is living with the Foddas (under the care of Rabbi Milligan). Also, the two principal families are named Cannon & Fodda.

I have not gotten to it yet unfortunately but I will tonight. The early reviews have not been promising but I loved the last 3 so I'm in regardless.

Do you need to watch previous Fargos to appreciate the current Fargo?

There are some connections between a few of the seasons, but you should be ok.

We watched the first two episodes tonight. They did not disappoint. Not sure if this is a spoiler but.... They seem to be going away from 'people making bad choices' to focusing on the mob.

got through the first episode now that I've caught up with The Boys S2. I dug it, but it doesn't feel quite like Fargo yet. The story was pretty straightforward which I'm not used to. There's some quirkiness to it which I love, but hardly any of the characters stuck with me after except for Jason Schwartzman's character. I'm gonna hopefully get to the second episode today/tonight sometime. Not hating it, just a different feel than the last 3 seasons.

Episode three was the best yet, Chris Rock's performance was his best of the season. He's a better actor than I realized/gave him credit for. Everyone's motivations seem pretty clear except for those of Oraetta. She obviously has a big part to play, but I can't figure out what. She's been my favorite character of the season so far, Jessie Buckley is excellent in this role.

East/West is the most Fargoey episode of the season, and also the best. This season has sputtered at times, but is picking back up as we head for the finale.

Haven't gotten to it yet but this hasn't been my favorite season. I dig the Mayflower character though, she's been great.

Agreed this has not been the best season, in fact probably my least favorite of the series. Chris Rock has been good at times but probably was miscast as Loy Cannon. I don't care about Jack Huston's character at all. It seemed like they introduced Ethelrida to be the protagonist but we've barely seen her at all for several episodes. Too many characters and not enough screentime for all of them, but the most recent episode is very good.
