I hereby propose the purpose of this thread is to post streaming links to albums of artists that have less than 40k monthly listeners on Spotify. You can add a comment if you want, but in general you should just adhere to the above and post the album link. We have a thread for discussing albums you listened to today.When do I get mod status I feel like I deserve mod powers at this point, the other mods will certainly keep me in check |

Just remembered I said I was gonna contribute to this after watching part of diy livestream fest this weekend.
Here's a band called Topiary Creatures (<1k listeners) who has a cool sound that I could describe as "what if Manchester Orchestra was a chiptune emo band?" Cool stuff that deserves more that 750 listeners imo, but y'all be the judge.

Here's some stuff I was exposed to during my hiatus, that I think some of y'all might enjoy.
Golden Apples - kinda Pavement-y. If you like concrete rock I suppose.
Battle Ave - lofi indie rock sorta thingy
Redveil - 18 y/o rapper, with a sound similar to Earl and Denzel Curry. Can be messy at times but damnit if he doesn't flow well
Joe Rainey - Justin Vernon approved throat singer
PLOSIVS - I'll never give up on Rob Crow, even if Pinback never comes back. This PLOSIVS record slaps.
Gemini Aliyah - no full release yet, just some tracks but so far very promising

i was disappointed that hookworms split a few years ago, but totally understood and supported the reason. i was hoping the members (aside from the abuser) would continue to make music. and today i discovered their latest. not bad.

Finally got around to listening to the SPRINTS record. First half is okay; seemed like it got a bit more melodic/interesting in the second half (seems like that hardly ever happens anymore). “Literary Mind” is a standout track for me.
