The cook at Cafe Jumping Bean in Pilsen has lung cancer and his wife started to pick up his shifts to bring in needed money. Now that they will have to close, the situation is even more dire. Great guy, great place. Anything would be greatly appreciated: www.gofundme.com/f/franciscos-fight-against-stage-4-lung-cancer

Would just like to encourage everyone to share these out with your networks as much as possible (I just did to mine). We all frequent a lot of these places mentioned and the people who put them on for us are important to my social life in this city, and probably yours as well. I am working on getting other funds for other places of establishment that I frequent and would encourage y'all do so as well. For our non-Chicago pals, if there are any places near and dear that could use support as this shit goes on, post em here too. Rango, sorry for hijacking your thread. I do not want to sit on the sidelines as this shit goes on if I can help it.

I just kicked dollars to Thalia and Maria's. I'm probably tapped out of charity right now but I will probably buy that T-shirt in the link ultravisitor posted because A. Support and B. It's dope Edit: Assuming nothing goes completely to hell by then we should have theboarddot's pre fest party for Pitchfork at Maria's

Honorary boarder The Todd's record store/bar in Nashville survived the East Nashville tornado and helped out a lot of their neighbors, but Covid-19 has shut down the bar meaning his staff is out of a job. There's a GoFundMe for them if you feel so inclined.

Not a Chicagoland thing, but hands down the best club/venue in NYC, Nowadays, has a Patreon page set up that gives you access to all of their streamed content during their closure. They are live streaming every night from 8PM to 12AM, content varies from dancey / harder DJ sets, to ambient / chill nights, as well as workshops and production lessons. Stream is free each night, but the Patreon gets you access to everything to watch at your leisure after the fact. Only $5 ((or higher if you can support) a month for what will be a TON of amazing content! Virtually NowadaysSure it's 'just' a club, but they honestly are/were a huge game changer in NYC scene, and have really pushed the concept of safer spacies policies and community support / building throughout their existence, and you can literally see their positive effect on the scene here as a whole. I have all my fingers and toes crossed they'll make it out of this ok!! They also have a venmo set up those goes directly to their employees who need it. Send love if ya can! <3 @nowahelp *I'll add, they have some of the most diverse staff of any venue here in the city. If you want to support POC, Queer, Trans, Female and true allies of these communities here in NYC, this a great way to directly do that!!

If anyone has plans to visit the Washington DC area and would like to support our local venues, gift certificates for I.M.P. venues (9:30 Club, Merriweather Post Pavilion, Lincoln Theatre, and The Anthem) are available from 930.com and every purchase will be matched dollar-for-dollar into a fund to benefit venue employees. Come on down, get yourself some tickets, see the shed that Animal Collective thought was worthy of an album title or the big-room club that Rolling Stone called the best in the country. I'll even buy you a DC Brau.
