i remember the lead single being really good. these last two i just heard were really down tempo and not that interesting. on her first record she had this insane passion and energy that i really miss, and she had some great guitar work.

wow, i just listened to a song from torres' album this year and she is so far away from what i liked about her on her first album. the song was fine. Yeah, I'm on my second listen to that one. It's definitely a change, she's definitely evolving. I know timbo didn't like it, but I'm pretty into it so far. I have a feeling that one will be a grower too. I wouldn't say I "didn't like it." It just was very different from what we've been used to for her. My biggest complaint is that it didn't transition live very well, at least at Maha. She sounded terrible, and chose really muddled songs for an afternoon set. I just miss the Honey days I guess, which is still my favorite song of hers. I need to give the new one a few more listens but my first run through wasn't a huge disappointment, just different.

'Helen of the Woods' doesn't do a lot for me, and I was nervous for the album when I heard that first. I listened to the rest of the album yesterday and I think I dig it. I'm looking forward to seeing it live on Thursday.
That said, I can't say I would've been excited to see the new material before hearing the album.

Oh nice! Yeah, they were the first band on Glacial Pace and I loved their debut. The last one was fine and their show in support of it was just ok, but I'll still check this out.

this article is complete slander and outright lies. Even the headline and subheadline lie (he didn't delete that youtube account because of the article). The author of the article retweeted a violent threat against Fantano last night too. Don't buy into everything you read so easily.

Worth noting that Fantano falls on the literal opposite end of the political spectrum than the alt-right...
really hoped this wouldn't find its way to this message board but now that it has I'm gonna fight this one out with you guys.

I see my comments were completely ignored... Okay, later when I have time I'm gonna tear this article apart piece by piece for you all.

I hate Youtube and Youtube culture and am not at all a fan of Fantano but I think it is problematic that we jump to 'alt-right' from someone being bad at satire/humor.

Seriously I had no idea this other site was a thing at all. This is really bizarre. Anime, I'm a big fan of his reviews too, but this is weird. Like it seems like they're stating objective facts about what was in those videos and it's pretty abhorrent. Not sure how you're going to go to bat trying to pick that apart.

Like it seems like they're stating objective facts about what was in those videos and it's pretty abhorrent. Not sure how you're going to go to bat trying to pick that apart. Quick hits: First off, Anthony is very much a Bernie supporter/social Democrat. He espouses this very often on Twitter. He shows contempt for Trump and the alt-right, mocking people like Paul Joseph Watson and Alex Jones and the like. To say he's courting alt-righters or that he is in and of himself alt-right is itself complete bullshit. "He deleted the entire channel when we asked for comment about why it was so bad." The subheadline is completely false. He deleted that channel (which FWIW I haven't watched for a long time) because YouTube had demonetized it as they've demonetized many many channels that haven't deserved it-- a problem in and of itself, but not really relevant to this. He had two video editors who he couldn't financially support anymore and he deleted the videos because all they did was benefit YouTube. By existing, they drove traffic to the website that would translate into YouTube getting ad revenue from videos on other channels people might be directed to from his. This article happened to hit at the same time as that. I get that the article clarifies that later, but to put that in the subheadline is untrue and slander, plain and simple. The article goes on to insinuate that he has supported xxxtentacion through the abuse allegations directed at the rapper. This is both hilarious because Fantano openly does not like the dude's music and has made like 3+ videos condemning the dude after the allegations came in. But they fail to mention any of that. That Is The Plan's humor was edgy and raunchy. There's no question about that. I didn't really like the meme-y content myself but it was basically just a parody of dumb internet culture. I can add more later.

It's worth noting that Fantano has called out bad articles/ethics from sites like Fader in the past. Plus, old media is dying and needs to demonize new media in a bid to remain relevant, and all that.

Both sides of the political spectrum have taken to labeling anyone they disagree with as the opposite extreme. It's all meaningless at this point.
