I thought I'd document my experience seeing that this is the first year for this event and no one besides me is going. I'm sitting at my hotel which is .3 miles from the Civic Center. It's 69 degrees Fahrenheit and the temperature will drop to around 52 in the evening so I'm bringing a jacket.

What kind of jacket? I'm wearing a Nike Windtech Runner jacket. The temperature hasn't dropped significantly to wear it though this jacket is what some would call a hipster jacket. I think I'll blend in quite well. |

Alright I'm in the fest and I'm seriously impressed. I walked around south park land but the Memberberry pit is closed so I'm in line to see Jerrys apartment. I got time before Ty Segall.

Alright so Day 1 is in the bag, and I have a lot to talk about.
Ty Segall - great set as always but his crowd was super small
Liza Treyger - her material was alright but most of her set was about Tinder which is a topic that gets beat to death. It's old.
Nick Vatterott - I'm looking at this dude's mug on the app, and I don't remember a single thing he talked about
Aparna Nancherla - Got to see her do three different sets opening for Miller, Hardwick, and Silverman.
Sal Vulcano - His bit about Master Chef Jr. was hilarious
T.J. Miller - started his set really strong and I could recognize some bits as seen in the trailer for his upcoming HBO standup special...then he fell apart towards the end
James Davis - nothing memorable from his set but wore killer Jordans
Rory Scovel - never heard this guy before but I'll definitely check out his special after seeing his set today
Natasha Leggero - she really likes talking shit about Rockford and her redneck family
Chris Hardwick - Hilarious set despite the fact he recycled jokes from when I last saw him at Bonnaroo in 2015
Moshe Kasher - really went into detail about his deaf mother loving anal and having a loud Hitchai dildo
Sarah Silverman - only saw a tiny part of her set before walking over to see Kevin Hart's set. Her new material is great!
Kevin Hart - I don't want to spoil this set but if you're a Kevin Hart fan, you're going to really love his new material.
Looking forward to Day 2!!

Onto the last day of the festival. Overall this fest is really laid back, and I think y'all would enjoy it. I don't know if it's going to be in San Francisco next year as Superfly is hinting it's going to be somewhere else next year (maybe NYC).
The ticket system to get into the smaller venues could be handled way better, and I think Bonnaroos comedy tent ticketing system wins.

For someone who bounced as soon as she could from a city because it sucked so bad to her, she sure seems to love talking about it. Also, I think one of her family members ran for mayor (unsuccessfully). Far from white trash. The guy is quite the successful real estate agent iirc. |
