Post in here albums that you've discovered in 2017, that have already come out. Basically a haven for new music that you want to share with other new music junkies.

noga erez is an artist from tel aviv. her brand of electronic music seems both personal and politically charged by the situation in her home country, as you might expect. her record is essential listening for fans of mia, jessy lanza, and female producer/vocalist led bangers nogaerez.bandcamp.com/album/off-the-radar

Fazerdaze - Morningside
Flying Nun artist Amelia Murray's bedroom pop album. Gave this a few listens recently and it's solid. She had an EP back in 2015 that I don't recall listening to, but Spotify says I did. Kind of rides that line between dream pop and dance pop, with a heavy push to more melodies than similar artists in the genre. It's a good summer record so far.
The Last Artful, Dodgr - Bone Music
Female hip-hop artist. Released back in January. Definitely more in the vein of that experimental hip hop. Been diggin it lately. Vocals can be a bit unsettling at times, but it's one of the more interesting listens in the genre that I've found.
Loyle Carner - Yesterday's Gone
British hip-hop artist that's gotten some solid airplay on the radio out here recently. If you're not into the accent, and can't get over it, definitely pass, but I've been enjoying it.

Except he didn't, and Fader has all but admitted they were baseless. Y'all read a hitpiece that was blatantly inaccurate and didn't bother to listen to the response, but continue to pretend to have an informed opinion. hmmmmm......
edit: he deleted his comment but I'm keeping mine

Some of that album is pretty catchy, but I couldn't get into it after a couple of tries. I think his potential is pretty great, though.

Turnover - Good Nature Released 8/25/17 If you like Jimmy Eat World with a dash of Real Estate, you'll enjoy this. Not that I had high expectations for this, but its such a departure from their last record as far as sound that I couldn't get through it. They were never an act that I was fond of, but this direction makes me less interested in them.

For those who like R&B, I would suggest "Sonder Son" by Brent Faiyaz. It just came out last week, and I'm obsessed with it. It's a coming of age story, essentially, as he chronicles his move from Baltimore to L.A. in hopes of becoming an artist worth knowing. Here's my favorite track, but honestly it is all great.

I totally forgot Wild Cub released a new album a month ago. This sounds slightly similar to their last album -- very Talking Heads/Ra Ra Riot-esque.

Hey I know y'all have been clamoring to hear my music takes so here are some for this thread. Some of these might not be albums you overlooked but I don't know what the board's pulse is anymore. Stef Chura- Messes: You may remember that I was pretty big on this album earlier. I still am! It's still good. Jangly indie pop. The album was recently pulled from spotify but I'm sure you can find it if you dig deep enough in the internet. Jen Choler- s/t: Admittedly never knew who she was until I googled Courtney Barnett. Better late than never I suppose. Album is indie rock with some really excellent songwriting. She was playing solo at Thalia and should be bigger in the states than she is. Rolling Blackouts Coastal Fever- The French Press EP: Another Australian, this time a bunch of dudes playing rock n roll music. Lots of soaring guitars, lots of accents, really good stuff. This is their second EP on SubPop, and I'm low key mad that they haven't played Chicago yet, though I'm sure they will when they do a full album (I think they've only played NYC a handful of times) Open Mike Eagle- Brick Body Kids Still Daydream: This honestly might be my personal favorite hip-hop release this year. I guess it's technically alternative hip-hop, but I don't know what that means. What I do know is that it's an album about the Robert Taylor Homes more or less, there's a very good and short documentary about the album over here at AV Club, and "95 Radios" is probably a top 10 song I've heard this year. Happyness- Write In: Are you a fan of Sparklehorse and Eels and other acts of that sort? If not, why aren't you? If so, you should check these guys out! This is their second album and while I prefer the first there are plenty of rippers in here to satisfy you. They played Empty Bottle back in May but I missed the show cause I went on a second date that night instead. Pool Holograph- Transparent World: Debut album from some local Chicago dudes. I've probably seen them 3 or 4 times opening for various bands over the year. They're fun and good! If you like Omni and/or Ne-Hi you'll probably find something to like in here. And I'm pretty sure if you attend a show at a smaller Chicago venue you'll get to see them live too. That's all I've got for now. I could make a list of albums that I think are overrated but that's a different thread for a different day.

Open Mike Eagle's in my top 20. Never heard of Pool Holograph but the description interests me since I like Omni.

For some reason Stef Chura's album isn't on Spotify anymore. I haven't looked into why that might be.
I spun the new Rural Alberta Advantage at lunch and it was surprisingly good. Recommended for those of y'all who were fans of their early stuff.

Recommended for those of y'all who were fans of their early stuff. I think it's a Urinal Cake records thing, there's a few other releases off that label that are gone. I had no idea RAR put a new album out so I'm saving that one for my next go round of new tunes
