BRACKETPALOOZA CHAMPIONS LEAGUE
This is a variation of our beloved annual Bracketpalooza competition. The structure is a little different, but this competition still has polling at its core.
We'll be using the format made popular by futbol (among other sports); group stage pool play, followed by a knockout stage .
Which Bracketpalooza Champion will reign supreme? Will anyone stop Radiohead?

There have been 14 Bracketpaloozas, with 1 repeat winner, for a total of 13 acts. The year listed is the Bracketpalooza year, which should be a year ahead of the actual performance year, i.e Flaming Lips played in 2006 and were slotted into Bracketpalooza 2007.

The Group Stage
Radiohead, the only two-time winner, is placed into the Knockout Round and will be seeded #1 when that stage begins.
The remaining 12 acts will be split into 3 groups of 4.
This will be a round robin, where everyone gets to play in at least 3 games. Winner gets 3 points. Ties are allowed at this stage and are worth 1 point.
Each group will have matches that you'll vote on in a 24-hour poll. Use any criteria you see fit when casting your votes.
GROUP A Paul McCartney Depeche Mode Vampire Weekend Devo
GROUP B The Cure Jack White The Flaming Lips Janelle Monae
GROUP C Arcade Fire Outkast Yeah Yeah Yeahs The Cars

The Knockout Stage
8 teams will make this stage as follows: #1 Radiohead #2-4: Three Group Winners #5-#7: Three Group Runners Up #8: Best record among the three 3rd place finishers
We'll then commence with a classic bracket format with 4 quarterfinals, 2 semifinals, 1 3rd Place game and 1 Championship game

HousekeepingTies are permitted in the group stage. I'll be tracking the vote count since vote differential will be a tiebreaker if needed during the group stage. The tiebreakers, in order, are: - Vote differential
- Votes for (higher #)
- Votes against (lower #)
Ties in the Knockout round will go to a 12-hour sudden death.

Paul mccartney repeatedly telling the same jimi hendrix story over and over should disqualify him against devo, a live act so revered they have opened for esteemed arena rock band arcade fire

We'll try something different for the final games of the group stage.
Tonight will feature 1 game per group, and tomorrow will feature the other 3.
I'll try to put something resembling a table here, so you can see where things stand.

The Knockout round begins today with the Quarterfinals.
From this point on, it's the classic bracket format you all know and love, with one exception.
Ties will not automatically go to the winner. There'll be a 6-hour sudden death poll instead.
Will someone (anyone) beat Radiohead?
