It's really sad how offended so many people would be by that movie these days. I hear this said a lot but I really don’t think it would be drastically different in terms of how people respond. In 1974 you were what, less than 10 years removed from the Legion of Decency in their heyday? I wasn’t alive in 74 so I’m willing to admit that I could be wrong about this but part of what makes the film so groundbreaking is that it paved the way for a lot of irreverent comedy as it exists now, racially based or not. |

Hey this movie was pretty good overall last night. Subtext is fun! Really feel like this holds up despite being 45+ years old, and it still addresses a lot of stereotypes you see it pretty much all filmmaking today. Would watch again if I got blazed again.
