Modest Mouse is hit or miss for me. The last time I saw Modest Mouse was at ACL and it was delightful.
Then there was the time they opened for REM and I fell asleep.

I like Modest Mouse. But, they are not really a good festival band. I feel the same way about GBV and festivals.

I don't even remember which record store I saw modest mouse do an in-store in. maybe reckless in its original location on broadway. if not, then tower on clark. definitely not ajax on chicago avenue.
was the only time I ever saw modest mouse, and it was not memorable. I don't think float on had been written yet.

Lolla should just book a full Rock-afire Explosion set. Didn't Riot Fest actually do that one year?

I've never seen modest mouse, hopefully they play a good set list. I'll most likely check them out.

Modest Mouse at Voodoo Fest 2018 wasn't great. Opening for Black Keys in 2019 in KC was much better.

I’ve never seen a bad modest mouse show, both at fests and on their own

I’ve never seen a bad modest mouse show, both at fests and on their own They were uninspired when they opened for REM. For me, the fun of a MM set is seeing what #rare you might get. At a fest, that doesn't always play well with casual audiences.

I have seen about 10% of a Modest Mouse show that was getting drowned out by a King Diamond set that sounded way more awesome so I went to that instead and I do not regret it at all

MM sets now are pleasant at worst (usually fests with the expected setlists), really cool at best depending on how deep they go like 1015 said.

Laughing Out Loud In Real Life at anyone calling Foo Fighters or Radiohead the "lamest band" when Imagine Dragons and 21 Pilots exist. I kind of took the question like what's a band that people like that is lame Like I think AJR is the worst thing in music right now but I felt like that was an easy boring answer As an aside I think those guys may be another hit single or two away from headlining majors and I hate it

I have seen about 10% of a Modest Mouse show that was getting drowned out by a King Diamond set that sounded way more awesome so I went to that instead and I do not regret it at all I left MM's set halfway through to catch the last of King Diamond - and yeah, I should've watched all of KD. (I had never seen MM before and really wanted to, that's my excuse.)

Modest Mouse bored me when they headlined Riot Fest, so I happily moved over to the Prodigy to close the night; the Prodigy kicked my ass and I regret not seeing the whole set.
I actually thought MM's 2018 set at Voodoo Fest was solid, certainly better than the Riot Fest one.
