the negative test requirement is just there for people going one day or as a deterrent for trying to go without being vaccinated. no one is going to get a covid test every day of the festival and go all 4 days. That may be how it plays out in practice, but the doc was quite clear as it's currently designed, it's a test within 24 hours for each day. yes, i didn't say that's not how it works? lolla isn't going to take an approach to ban people who won't get vaccinated. but they are going to make it incredibly inconvenient to go unvaccinated for all 4 days. |

I can't wait for all the whining that is sure to come because people can't figure out that you need to get your first shot (for the 2 dose vaccines) at least five weeks before the first day of the fest.

Am I missing something? This is in Indiana? It's very, very close to Chicago (and free at that). They are also playing a gig in Wisconsin the next day.
It's not a "definitely, 100% not playing", but it would be unusual for them to be in the area 2 weeks prior playing for free and then come back/stick around for a slot at Lolla.

So far we have confirmed Post Malone Journey Limp Bizkit I'm not expecting this lineup to be good, but after over a year without live music I'll certainly be purchasing a 4 day pass. Is this real, is Limp Bizkit playing Lollapalooza or is this a message board running gag? |

Sorry, I think I misinterpreted what you originally said as suggesting that Lolla wouldn't enforce it each day for people with 4-day passes. Reading it back, I think what you meant is anyone buying a 4-day pass will probably opt to get vaccinated to avoid the hassle of a daily test.
And yes, they are clearly trying to use this as incentive for younger people who may be on the fence about getting vaccinated, and I'm A-OK with that.

They played this same fest maybe 5 years ago. For free...we headed down for a night of people-watching. Apparently the mayor of Hammond is a metal-head and they have relatively big acts pretty regularly. The year they played it POURED BUCKETS. Their sound went out within the first couple of songs (clearly electrical issues having to do with all the water) and never really came back. They tried several times, but it was stop/start and I'd bet they played no more than 4 or 5 songs. If you're thinking about the festival, don't bother with "VIP" it's pretty well run for a free festival. The only downside is that there's only one parking lot within walking distance and I think it was $40 and owned by the city. If the radar is looking clear on July 15, I can see heading back. |
