They really should have just called the Bonus Tracks stage the Mindfield. but the mindfield showed creativity in its planning and in its lineup and schedule that lolla hasn't had for more than a decade.

Tyler has one of the biggest Lolla crowds I've seen, and he's not on for another 40 minutes Yeah I left after Roddy Rich and I haven't seen the south field that packed since Bruno Mars headlined

People have not been wearing masks on the red line since October of last year. Also we’ve been having 30,000+ fans at baseball games for months now so signaling out Lolla seems ill advised Okay, but as you say, those things were happening for months before the surge involving a much, much more contagious variant. This festival did not have to happen, and they did not have to relax the testing requirements beforehand. Even Arwardy is saying that they are expecting that people will get sick, but they're just hoping that it's not that bad. Cubs and White Sox don't need to have people in their ball parks either. They are no different than Lolla. At least Lolla had some vaccination- testing requirement unlike the baseball teams.

Alot of that Tyler crowd was apparently the Jack Harlow crowd. His crowd is big, but normal headliner big now

Tyler was so much fucking fun. I absolutely lost it when he came out in the full Igor getup I could not give less of a fuck about Marshmello, planned to stay for like a song before heading to Jimmy but wound up staying until almost 10. The power of Lolla and Margs in a can.

My friend agreed with me, I think there's a very high chance Jimmy Eat World does an album set Friday at Metro, since Bleed American just turned 20. Plus I don't think the have played the songs from the newest album live very much yet. Putting my money on the Bleed American set though. Told you bastards

Okay, but as you say, those things were happening for months before the surge involving a much, much more contagious variant. Right, and as has been pointed out, those things were happening already before we started this surge. It's easy to stop or keep events from happening at all than it is to stop them after they've already started. Timing is everything with this virus, and we did not need to add one more thing to the system, especially given what we know now about the current variant and vaccine efficacy. Vaccine efficacy is turning out to be pretty low for elderly and immunocompromised folks, like my parents. I've spent the last year freaking out about them and have only been able to see either of them in person a single time. Yes, plenty of people are going to live even if infected, but those people are going to spread it. They're going out all over the city. They're going to go back home to different parts of the country, including places where vaccination rates are lower. I'm just a little annoyed at the lack of social responsibility on display because people might get to see Miley Cyrus shake those flapjacks attached to her backside or Dababy spew homophobic nonsense. But I get it. People have their rights and freedoms. America.

Even Arwardy is saying that they are expecting that people will get sick, but they're just hoping that it's not that bad. I agree that relaxing the testing requirements was a dumb move Also, when I got to the festival yesterday, I saw that they had a table before the check for vaccine or negative test gate that was full of masks that people could take and wear inside the festival, and i saw maybe 3 people take one? Maybe 10% of the people in the festival were wearing mask? possibly less? I also noticed that they were congratulating themselves for having 90% vaccinated attendees on Thursday, but the tweet for Friday didn't have the numbers according to lost and found 46 people have lost their Vaccination cards at the festival but when can we discuss the real menace of Lollapalooza? Blisters... based off of the condition of my feet, and recent setlists... I'm no longer seeing Limp Bizkit today (which means no Journey)... still don't know if i will be at megan thee stallion or oliver heldens (probably oliver heldens from the cooling bus so i can sit comfortably, but I know the Megan set is can't miss) I'll try to see Porches, but other than that, it's back and forth between lake shore and t-mobile for me today

The vaccine checks are an absolute fucking joke. Just having an image of a vaccination card with a (possibly random) name on it proves absolutely nothing

I will say I saw a lot more people wearing masks at Metro last night compared to Friday. I had on a KN95 and it was fairly uncomfortable in a hot - stuffy venue like Metro. Hopefully these venues move to proof of vaccination required for entry ASAP.

I think 90% is pretty high. At the same time I don't think a majority of people are out there frauding a vaccine card. So while maybe not 90% the actual percentage of vaccinated is probably very high.

Still very wild that the guy who made “Yonkers” headlined the main stage of Lollapalooza. He’s still good! I’ll probably never see him again.
White Reaper and Roddy Rich we’re also really good yesterday.
Today I get to do a full day of this thing + an after show. I hope I remember to wear shoes with arch support as I am clearly out of festival shape.
