Looks plausible outside of the 1975. They cancelled their tour and all of their 2021 festival slots. Ahh, yes. Forgot about that. Was looking at the old OSL poster.

Pearl Jam might be in play as they finish up an EU tour a few weeks prior, but they have a lot of postponed US dates to figure out too. (EDIT: lol, nevermind -- they just scrapped their 2021 EU tour and pushed to 2022). Could be that they just don't want to do international shows yet. I would be bearish on Dua Lipa for the same reason.

I'm having a very hard time thinking of a band that could play the 5-8 rock spot.
Vampire Weekend/Tame/Strokes all played very recently, who else is touring? I guess there hasn't been a lot of announcements yet.
Lizzo vs "5-8 rock group" Post Malone vs Journey Foos vs Tyler or Megan Pearl Jam vs Dua

Lolla should book Silk Sonic for a WTT-style headlining set.

You could bring back Vampire Weekend since their last time was prior to FOTB being released and they were at least a 2018 act. I could also see HAIM being a sub, so that would lend itself to some fun crossover.
They were slated to play Osheaga 2020 originally (no idea if they still are) but they scratched from Roo for some reason, so they may not be taking dates until later in the year. I would love PJ, but the more I read, the less likely it seems that they'll do any 2021 shows. That said, they haven't publicly thrown in the towel on Sea Hear Now or Ohana, so until those are dead, we can hope.

They don't really seem like a fit for Lolla anymore but I suppose MMJ could be a north headliner. At least they will be active this year.

Aren't there still a couple of acts that "owe" a return visit because of rain? Muse? Florence? This would be a good year to knock those out (if owing a rain check is a real thing).

I would love a Lorde Melodrama set.

Remember that international acts are very unlikely this year. And I'd make several beer bets that there is zero chance Pearl Jam plays.

And I'd make several beer bets that there is zero chance Pearl Jam plays. their "new" us tour dates make them a more likely candidate than they were before but i still have a hard time seeing it. i do know they looked at expanding that tour while it was postponed.

Thought about dropping this in another convo about VW, but wanted to read about it more first. I don't know for sure, obviously, but I wonder if their inactivity this year is due to the 'open secret' allegations against Ezra by Tavi Gevinson, who dated Ezra a few years back when he was 30 and she was... 18. You can read about it here - tho obvious reddit warning apply, I haven't waded into the comments section yet.

Flo got most of her set in 2015. Muse & Lorde got rained out but I'm not sure if either are active this year and both are based abroad which seems to be an issue for a lot of 2021 bookings.

Foo Fighters*RHCP (w John)*Kendrick Lamar*Post Malone Lizzo*Megan Thee Stallion*Journey*Calvin Harris
I dunno man the lack of EDM has me thinking Calvin (Because I like him) but I know there's others out there. I have more interest in seeing RHCP than Foos at this juncture but I would rather see Pearl Jam.
Edit: after thinking about the international acts thing I replaced Dua Lipa with Megan Thee Stallion

Way too big, maybe remove RHCP and add another smaller act. I forgot about kendrick, hope he plays

I’d not be super surprised either way at this point but the increasing rate of vaccines is extremely promising

I feel like the increasing number of cases in the meantime has to eventually collide with some deadline that the festival is going to have to get approval from the city, right?

As we’ve proven in the last 3 months, a lot can happen in 3 months. I’d imagine the city of Chicago recognizes that

Lizzo was supposed to headline last year and was just announced as a top three at Bonnaroo, she's not getting billed lower than fourth

Lizzo was supposed to headline last year and was just announced as a top three at Bonnaroo, she's not getting billed lower than fourth She has had a significant drop in popularity from last year. I think part of the reason that Lizzo was billed top 3 at Bonnaroo is because she was announced as the first female headliner in the festivals history last year. Would be pretty crappy to come back from that and say "sorry, we dont want you now". Tame Impala being on the same day now kind of makes the top look stronger for Saturday at Roo. I personally think its more likely she isnt booked than is booked and lower than 4th. Cardi B seems like the female rap headliner this year given she replaced Lizzo at Osheaga the same weekend.

I'm very confused by what metric you are going off of. She hasn't had any new music over the last year to judge any sales numbers and there's been no touring. She'd absolutely sell out arenas if she announces a tour

A few of my coworkers are talking about how they would stay at congress and pound water bottles of vodka at this fest. They graduated high school in 2016. I feel incredibly old.
