Alright, I've officially gone into stir crazy mode. Like most of you, I've pretty much been hiding at home since March, and have barely done anything fun. And since I, you know, actually miss you people, I thought we could possibly try a socially distanced meetup some time soon. Plus, we can use it as a reason to celebrate Chicago's official increase in our fuckin' neader quotient. Here's my idea: Sleeping Village just tweeted, and I saw you can reserve tables on their patio. They have the dates up for Thursdays through Saturday for the next 3 weekends. They're only 1 hour slots, but it looks like there are 9 spots per hour. I'm assuming we can maybe have 4 people safely per bench? Maybe ten15 or alady or someone who's been on the patio recently can confirm. So if people want to do this, we can then coordinate and grab a few reservations at the same time. Looks like it's just $5 to hold a reservation per table. So vote, comment, add alternate suggestions too if that won't work. Since we're all about to hide in our caves for the next few months, I figured this is probably our only chance.

Re SV, they now have small and large picnic tables on the patio and high tops around the perimeter. These seat 4, 6 and 2 respectively, depending on your risk tolerance/size of your bubble. They are close enough together that different tables can converse.
You can reserve each table for up to two consecutive hours. The time does fly.
If this were on a Friday/Saturday your odds of an alady and atramp sighting would skyrocket.

Were I not in the worst state possible for Covid I would legitimately make a day trip down to see the tops of everyone’s beautiful faces but since my job requires me to meet in person with customers and everything going on, I would be a significant risk for y’all. I’m there in spirit though

We are currently quarantining until baby Pale Hose arrives and will be for some time after. I wish I could be there, maybe next time.

My vote locked on the "your nuts" option but I would be open to this depending on date/time

Further re the tables: the small picnic tables are a little cozy for 2 non-bubbled people, I would guess you've got 5 ft max if you sit kitty corner from each other. The larger tables are a comfy six feet from corner to corner. The high tops would work for singles or bubbled pairs.

i would really love to but we're still being pretty strict about public places to avoid getting our families suck so we probably have to decline. but if anyone wants to bite the bullet of carrying a tablet/laptop, maybe we can join everyone virtually?

I think mrs ten15 and I would be up for this. We've been wanting to reserve a patio table on our own, so would be fun to do when we know other people there.

I don't think that we would attend either, but as it's so close, there would be a decent chance that we would walk down there and wave at y'all before running back home.

there's no way the 2016 organ transplantee and the 2018 diagnosed type 2 diabetic would ever do this until there is a covid vaccine, but all of you do you. the former doesn't even leave the house to go to the local grocery after 8 am, but gets there at 6 am to avoid other humans.

I would attend this on a non-rainy day. Also like Krentist’s park idea.
