Apparently a band called Mothica posted that they are playing the fest on 9/18 I saw them on the BMI stage at Lolla last year, they were pretty good. Goth-y rock, I recommend them if they are not scheduled against anything good

We know Riot Fest usually pays to help fix the park after their festival, but do we know if lyrical lemonade or heatwave also contributes funds to help restore the park? maybe Riot Fest can negotiate with the city and get the same cause in their contract like lollapalooza has where they need to be contacted for permission if another music festival wants to use the park? Might solve the problem of the park not being usable during the summer if they boot the two lesser festivals from the park

Just make Grant Park the park for all festivals. No one who lives in the Loop is going to give a shit, it's huge so an event like Riot or Lyrical Lemonade won't need the whole park so it can still be open elsewhere, and easiest to get to for the city.
I should run for mayor.

I still think it shouldn't be on public land but otherwise I agree

Can't wait to figure out who got bribed for this in a couple years

There's a chance I might be coming back for at least 2/3 of this. Working out the details here… Would anybody here be able to host me from 9/14 until 9/18 morning? Also, is there gonna be some kind of pre-RF hang?

Only really bad conflict for me is Joy Formidable - Bully - Thick all at the same time on Saturday. Otherwise I can live with the schedule.
Thought for sure TBS would be conflicting with an act I care about, but nope!

Yeah that worked out nicely. I'm not sure if I have all three days in me but I'll be there Friday and Sunday for sure.

what is that 2:30-2:50 gap on saturday with the ukrainian flag where no one's playing?

Is it not a tribute to Ukraine or something

what is that 2:30-2:50 gap on saturday with the ukrainian flag where no one's playing? I wrote to them to ask, we'll see. Pretty sure that's just a design on the schedule, since they normally wouldn't give Joy Formidable only a half hour set. Pretty stoked for that main stage run of Jimmy Eat World - Sleater-Kinney - YYY - NIN on Sunday

Conflicts for me aren't awful, but some tough ones...
- Taking Back Sunday overlap with Wonder Years
-The Yellowcard/SDRE/Bauhaus mess
-NIN vs. Academy Is...
-Juliana Theory vs. Mom Jeans. (probably my most painful conflict, believe it or not)

They seem to have a lot more half hour sets than past years, right?

Marky Ramone being during MCR sucks, but I'll see MCR obviously. Guess I'll buy a SDRE aftershow ticket since they conflict with Yellowcard and Bauhaus. Other than that no big conflicts since I expected Ice Cube and NIN to conflict.

Is Yellowcard's "reunion" really that big of a deal? They haven't been gone that long and when they were active they played Chicago every year, sometimes multiple times. If I go Saturday I won't have any problem skipping them for SDRE into Misfits.

Not too bad for me. Conflicts:
Placebo/Rocket from the Crypt/Jeff Rosenstock Bauhaus/SDRE NIN/Ice Cube even though I figured that would be the case.
Like Palehose, not sure if I go on Saturday.
