Hmm... I felt nothing while watching what was supposed to be a pretty big show last night. Well, some disappointment in Braun getting jobbed out, but was more of a shrug if anything.

Cena likely won't be around until Mania for a Undertaker vs Cena swan song.
I really hate how it's going to be Reigns vs Lesnar with Reigns winning clean. He better not win the rumble because holy shit the boos will be deafening.

so...Sami is heel? is that how they're saving his lack of push?
(i don't watch raw/sd much anymore, just the ppv's. so i'm sure there's context i'm missing from last night)

You missed nothing. I'm just as baffled. My best guess is they want him to stay in the spotlight until they can get him into the US Title picture (once AJ and Nakamura move on to the HC/Mania).
Also, the Rockford house show was pretty fun Sunday. It began at 5pm and they had us out at 7:30pm.
Finn Balor d. Karl Anderson (w-Luke Gallows) Slater/Rhyno/R Truth/Crews d. Golddust/Darren Young/Elias/Bo Dallas Enzo Amore d. Mustafa Ali Rollins/Ambrose d. Sheamus/Cesaro Alexa Bliss/Nia Jax d. Mickie James/Sasha Banks The Miz/Axel d. Jason Jordan/Matt Hardy (I think?) Reigns d. Strowman

Ring of Honor/New Japan last night was v entertaining, but way funnier than most ROH PPV's i feel like.
-Bully Ray gave his retirement speech after one last table spot with daniels/kazarian -Colt Cabana's match involving stuffed animals went on for way too long -most of the tag team matches had a lot of spots that involved pwg style slo-mo or old steenerico joke slaps -the headlining event with Kenny Omega and Yoshi Hashi wasn't bad but the crowd was so over for Omega that it felt kinda underwhelming to see him win with the obvious help of bullet club because ROH has NEVER been able to end a ppv without a wcw style stable brawl -the whole "fuck vince" and "fuck the revival" thing wore thin super quickly
still a good time. also odeum expo center is a strange venue but still better than chicago ridge last year

Roman Reigns and Bray Wyatt were both injured so now Finn Balor is fighting AJ Styles and Kurt Angle(!) is joining the Shield at TLC

Yeah that's an insane turn of events but I kind of like how they're going all-in on things these days.
Virus though is the cause, no?

Decent PPV. Only thing I would have wanted different was a non-clean finish to Balor/Styles. Like, maybe Rowen/Harper making their return and beating both up?

Angle looked awful last night, which was weird because I remember him having decent matches during his last run in TNA and on the indies. And wasn't that only like a year ago?

It's been longer than that. Oh, and Raw last night was incredible. I absolutely love Shane invading with the Smackdown roster and beating down The Shield in front of Angle.
Edit: also IRT Angle looking bad, keep in mind house shows are there to have the talent practice these very matches. Angle had zero prep time which has got to be tough, especially when you've been out of the ring for a year plus.
At least Styles and Balor have faced each other/similar opponents so they have something to work with.
Like, some of the PPV spots where mirror images of what they did at the Rockford house show. #practice.

Angle's last TNA match was against Lashley in March 2016, and he was wrestling guys like Cody Rhodes in the indies as recently as March 2017. I'll admit to not having seen every one of those "farewell tour" matches, but most of them were good and he looked a lot quicker and more agile than he did last night. Maybe it's just a change to his workout routine, and maybe the shield vest was worn to hide his physique, but it just seemed like a really quick dropoff.

More important: how does Raw possibly put together a decent Survivor Series team? Lesnar, Rollins, Ambrose and Miz are all in matches while Kane and Strowman are also out unless they seriously decide to include them in the team, which would be STUPID.
Don't they have to bring back Joe and Reigns for this thing? Otherwise you are looking at: Sheamus, Cesaro, Balor and...what?
Options are: Elias, Apollo Crews, Curtis Axel, Jason Jordan, Matt Hardy, Anderson, Gallows, R-Truth, Rhyno, Goldust, Heath Slater
Currently Legit Injured: Bray Wyatt, Bo Dallas, Roman Reigns, The Big Show, Big Cass, Samoa Joe
Already in a match: The Miz, Brock Lesnar, Seth Rollins, Dean Ambrose
Rumored "Guest Ref" for the Mahal/Lesnar match: John Cena
And again, why in the hell would Kane OR Strowman be in the match? Everyone and their mom would know the other would eventually come out and take them out.

Piling on...
Meanwhile, Smackdown gets to pick from a wealth of options including: AJ Styles, Bobby Roode, Dolph Ziggler, Kevin Owens, Randy Orton (in), Rusev, Sami Zayn (out), Nakamura, Dillinger and that doesn't even include all the tag team options like The New Day, Breezango, Hype Bros and Benjamin/Gable

I thought this was pretty good but still wanted more. More stories. More backstage politics. Somehow 90 minutes just didn't seem enough time to cover him.

AJ beat Jinder for the title on SD last night, which makes me think they popped Jinder for steroids or something. They'd already been plugging Jinder vs. Brock for a few weeks, and the switch to AJ seems like it's a bit out of nowhere. But yeah, AJ vs. Brock could be interesting I guess?

Pete Dunne needing help to beat Kalisto on Raw just makes me face-palm again at how WWE develops prospects (aside from Strowman, they need to tighten up their booking of new faces). The company also seems to be in a very strange position right now as they have shot their wad on dream matches by "rushing" Wrestlemania build-ups, yet at the same time I don't find myself excited for anything they produce anymore.
AJ taking the title off Jinder definitely feels right, though in December WWE is going to India so perhaps they'll put the belt back on him after the Brock match.

My guess is the results of the surveys they've been sending out to subscribers showed that nobody gave the least of shits about Jinder OR Jinder vs Brock. Since you do not have unlimited use of Lesnar, you need to make them count and Jinder vs Brock wouldn't cut it. It's common knowledge that the only person who wanted Jinder champ was Vince and having knowledge regarding fan excitement would probably convince Vince to make the change.

If they play it right, that's your title match at Mania.

If they play it right, that's your title match at Mania. Yeah, pretty sure AJ holds the title until Mania (or they do a switch and switch-back due to the India tour with Jinder), but I could see Nakamura winning the Rumble.
Because the Raw main event is going to be Brock vs. Roman and it's not like they're going to try to have Roman win the Rumble again after the fiasco a few years ago.

It's Reigns for now. I could see them changing their minds on that too. I remember it was supposed to be Cena/Taker until they decided to go with Reigns/Taker about 3-4 months before the PPV.
In my dream world The Miz gets the belt (because he's easily the best talent right now on Raw) and takes on a face. If you keep The Shield vs Team Miz until early 2018 then it would make sense to have Reigns vs Miz. I'm kind of done with Lesnar and his out of shape red ass face.
