Assumed it was a foregone conclusion that Roman def. Brock at Mania. Placeholdermania 34: Roman Reigns vs. Brock Lesnar (c) -- Universal Title Shinsuke Nakamura vs. AJ Styles (c) -- WWE Title Finn Balor vs. The Miz (c) -- Intercontinental Title Asuka vs. TBD (c) -- TBD Women's Title TBD vs. TBD (c) -- TBD Women's Title TBD vs. The Usos (c) -- Smackdown Tag Team Titles Preshow: TBD vs. TBD -- Cruiserweight Title Pretty sure they're going to end up with Charlotte vs. Asuka and Alexa vs. Nia.

I could see them going the direction of Brock-Reigns-Rollins as a triple threat at Mania to come full circle

Finally caught up on last week's NXT. Gargano/Almas was fantastic again, and I'm really intrigued to see how they're going to blow off that Ciampa/Gargano feud now that Gargano is supposedly done with NXT. Speaking of Ciampa, dude looks like a top heel with his beard and blown up physique.
What becomes of Gargano after NXT? He seems way too good for 205 live, but I'm not sure if he'd make much of a mark on the main roster.

Wrestling superstars CM Punk and Wade Barrett are to host the new season of Netflix reality TV series Ultimate Beastmaster.
Former WWE Champion turned UFC fighter Punk and Britain's ex-King of the Ring Stu 'Bad News Barrett' Bennett will front the show.
The third season features a variety of physical tests, with competitors from countries around the world trying to conquer a giant obstacle course.
The winners from each country then move on to a final competition, with the eventual victor earning the title of the 'Ultimate Beastmaster'.

Not sure if it's more appropriate to put this here or in the movies thread, but Gunner (of TNA Impact fame) was in Game Night as The Bulgarian's goon.
What's the deal with that guy? I remember that he signed with WWE last year, but I haven't seen or heard anything about him since.

I actually thought it was Mason Ryan (remember him?) until I looked into it on IMDB. But yeah, it seems like NXT just likes to keep a queue of guys so they can reload whenever the main roster needs another round of call-ups, and there's only enough time on NXT for like 5 feuds at once anyway. I'm guessing we see another round of NXT call-ups after Mania once the part-timers go away for a while and they'll need to replenish NXT after they move up McIntyre, Ember, Gargano, AoP, etc. so maybe that'll clear up some space for guys like Gunner, Ricochet, War Machine, etc.

sorry to double post, but this needs to be posted in here
WWE just had a house show at the united center for the first time they've been there in 20 years... and the main event was Brock Lesnar squashing Kane in 35 seconds to defend the title

Pretty stellar that the most over guy in the company won’t be on the card at wrestlemania Strowman....interesting whatever they do with him. I’d want him to just challenge for the raw tag championship as a one person team. Or do an odd couple person team with him and Elias

Rusev
I'm not entirely convinced Rusev is legit over. "Rusev Day" feels a lot like a few years when everyone was "doing the Fandango" for a couple of weeks, or more recently the TEN chants (where's that dude now?).
I'm a Rusev fan though, so I'll be happy to be wrong about this. I just need to see this momentum sustain itself for a few months before I'm convinced it's more than a fad. I'd imagine the bookers feel the same way.
Side note: How awesome was the "Symphony of Destruction" match? Loved all of Corey's Megadeth references, especially since you could tell Coachman and Cole had no idea what he was talking about.

Uhmmm...also Cena vs. Taker is a guarantee at this point I’ve heard Cena v. Rey which, despite also being straight out of 2007, is infinitely more interesting than Taker cobbling through a match sans streak at this point.

Rey was actually scheduled to have a meeting with HHH about another return, but that has been put on hold since he tore his bicep at an indie show over the weekend.
