is that an even shorter hiatus than lcd soundsystem? I think Motion City Soundtrack might be the shortest "breakup" I can think of. Even still, this one was predictable even when it was announced.

is that an even shorter hiatus than lcd soundsystem? Yep. It'll be 4 years since the "final" shows, and I think LCD made it 5

Brady Ebert is officially out of Turnstile (after not touring with them for a long time).
Very interested to see where this takes them musically, he was the major riff writer I feel. Hope everything turns out ok for him.

Eric Avery is back on bass for this Jane's tour in the fall. Excited about this, but I hadn’t read that Dave was feeling well enough to perform/tour. So that was welcome news too.

Girlpool are breaking up
I enjoyed their debut LP back in the day, but haven't really checked in with them much since

what's a band from the last, say, ten years that didn't announce a breakup/hiatus but very clearly stopped making music together?

I’ll go to bat for Powerplant whenever.
Shame they didn’t feel they could continue post Avery’s transition.

Grizzly Bear comes to mind Thank god Read a Stereogum interview with Daniel Rossen where he basically said that the Dessners insisted that he sing "Terrapin Station" on Day of the Dead. He'd never heard the song before and thought it was "silly." Eff.

Interesting to see how fake Pantera is billed on these lineups. It seems they might be more realistic about their draw sans the Darrell brothers than I initially thought they would be.

It's the sun which is a tabloid, but I'd be very happy if they played Primavera next year. Damon seemed to be having a great time with Gorillaz this year.
