Metal heavy hitters Skeletonwitch return Spring 2018 with their first full-length in over four years on Prothestic Records. This round they've teamed up with prolific record producer, Kurt Ballou, (Chelsea Wolfe, High On Fire, Kvelertak and best known as the guitarist of Converge) in his famed GodCity Studio. The record will be mixed by Fredrik Nordström (Opeth's 'Blackwater Park', At The Gates' 'Slaughter of the Soul') in Gothenburg, Sweden.

In a new interview with Rolling Stone, Kevin Shields has shared more details of the upcoming My Bloody Valentine album, which he recently said will “one hundred percent” be out next year. Comparing it to the band’s 2013 album mbv, he said, “This one is like if somebody took that and dropped some acid on it or created a dimensional clash or something. It’s more all over the place.” He also noted that he doesn’t plan on doing a surprise release, as they did with the previous album: “I want it to be more organized.”

In December, Kevin Shields will perform at Sigur Rós’ inaugural Norður og Niður festival. In his interview with RS, Shields indicated that he’ll play shows with MBV next year: “It helps make the album; it helps realize it,” he explained. He previously told Pitchfork that touring is “always a really good way to guarantee that we’ll get the record done.”

Joshua Tillman has provided new details about his next Father John Misty album. In a new interview with Uncut, Tillman said, “Most of this next album was written in a six-week period where I was kind of on the straits.” He also said it’s “the real I Love You, Honeybear but without the cynicism,” and called it “a heartache album.” In addition, Tillman revealed some working track titles: “Mr Tillman, Please Exit the Lobby,” “Ouch, I’m Drowning,” “Dum Dum Blues,” and “Well, We’re Only People and There’s Nothing Much We Can Do About It.” Read more over at Uncut.
