Do we think this festival talked to the CTA? I have my doubts they did! Fwiw, their How Do I Get to Riot Fest? article says... "Riot Fest is actively working with the CTA to increase service and frequency to and from Douglass Park." edit: a little google searching confirms that they've had the exact same statement in these posts going back to at least 2017, so no reason to get hopes up |

Shorts all 3 days for me, with a hoodie for after the sun goes down. Might wear sports jerseys all days too, haven't decided yet. I hope this stupid festival talked to the CTA

Was curious so i checked Stubhub. A 3 day is currently $218 after fees which is about what I paid for my early bird ticket

Also the Malort shots are $11 each and they have a spritz this year, so I’m good with skipping that and sticking with Monaco and whatever the other options are

I guess I’ll be at this thing on Sunday. Just got 2 single day passes for $130. I would have skipped the whole thing since I’m going to the postal service/DCFC/Warpaint show next week, but my gf really wants to see The Cure. I know not ideal, but what’s the parking situation like? I have a wedding Saturday night and don’t really want to deal with packed pink line trains.

am not going today. better half thinks I should go tomorrow, at least for the airportman wedding, and then see how much more fest I can last through (spitalfield, crass, death grips or pup, gecs, icp or bungle). too bad godspeed isn't tomorrow.

Random thoughts on Riot Fest day 1: - I got an amazing parking hook-up but getting out of that neighborhood at the end of the night is an absolute disaster. Nothing they can do based on the 1 lane roads, etc. but traffic seems to get worse every year.
- Josh Freese. Taylor was a great drummer but Josh is a MF'ing BEAST. Love watching him play.
- Drum solo's might be my least favorite part of any show ever. And a drum solo during a short festival set is a travesty. I'm looking at you Turnstile.
- I keep hoping they'll bring back the "Riot Fest Sucks" cocktail cups but no luck. Instead we get some weird alcoholic water and the not really drinkable Riot Pop. Maybe next year.
