I would take one, just to see finch -> gorilla biscuits -> gsybe, and call it a night. I can email you mine and pick up the ones at the box office if you do want to go

I'm going, I'll be picking up the two (or 4?) physical tickets, so it will be much easier to just email my other one

Yeah, I'm not sure. I'm afraid that even if I just go for The Cure I won't be able to get home until way too late because of all the traffic.

My one day of Riot Fest was everything I wanted it to be. I'm not going to review every band I saw, but it was a great day of music and The Cure are absolutely magical. Some musings and observations:
-They turned the barrier in between Riot & Roots (the main stages) into a limited bar. I'm not sure if Riot Fest is the first fest to ever do this, but it was the first time I had ever seen it. I thought it was brilliant.
-I didn't think the grounds were that bad, especially compared to some Riot Fests of years past. My shoes got a little muddy but that's it.
-I left the park during Boys Don't Cry and had no problem getting on the Pink Line at Kedzie. I also only had to wait for the Ashland bus for 5 mins at Lake, so I was home by 10:40. I think that's my new record coming home from Riot Fest. I'm a little sad I missed the last two songs but having a smooth commute home was definitely worth it.
-The expanded food options seemed to help, I was able to walk up and get food with almost no line during what would normally be peak hours.
-The Dresden Dolls are terrible and did not deserve the slot they got. That slot should have been used to break up the Mars Volta/Used/Gaslight Anthem/GYBE conflict.
That's all I've got, until next year.

Really can't get over how great both Cure shows I saw this year were. Feel v lucky that Robert is not only still around but still playing phenomenal shows. Would've liked Plainsong and Disintegration but that seems like such a small thing to complain about when I've seen them do it many times before and was still an incredible show regardless.
A Forest is always good but last night it really hit. That, Cold, and Push were my highlights.

I guess the one benefit was that the crowds were probably split up pretty evenly. I broke off from the rest of my group to watch Gaslight Anthem and had no trouble securing a good spot in front of the stage. They had a good crowd but it didn't feel super packed at all.

Yesterday was an all-timer of a day at Riot Fest. The Cure were amazing. Also saw excellent sets from The Gaslight Anthem, Finch, AFI, Flogging Molly and Ride. CTA service was great yesterday and I was home by 11.

Well hey, that was a really nice Riot Fest weekend. Three days of mostly good music and a fucking wedding to boot. The only night that felt crowded to me was Friday but even that was more like normal Riot Fest crowds to me. Off the dome I’d say Screaming Females, Sludgeworth, Death Grips, The Postal Service, Fleshwater, and The Cure all put on great sets. Had never seen The Cure before but in preparation I listened to the first two albums and also Disintegration and now would go extremely out of my way to see them. Tremendous show which everyone else already knows but hey, it was great. Rocked to tell ten15 “I get it”. Nice to see so many of you this weekend.

Great time this weekend. Didn't see much of people but it was nice to watch the Cure with the board. I really regret leaving after Edge of the Deep Green Sea but I was sure the train was going to be a mess. Sounds like everyone got home quickly though.

Pros:
Brynn for Bryn Using the imaging machine for security Riot Pop (if anyone knows where I can get the CBD one please help it's an emergency) Lineup Watching the headliners from in front of the roots stage. Great sightlines, etc I thought the sound was fine for every set. Curious to how GY!BE sounded Ample street parking Sounds like the CTA was basically good except for the independence day chaos
Cons:
Food lines are still rough. I found a taco truck with a short line that was cash only and had two options which was a life saver before TMV.
Beer prices also bad but commensurate with anywhere else I guess.

I guess my only complaint this year and (usually with Riot Fest I have several) was the lack of-placement of the restrooms. There should be more and especially by the Rebel, Rise and Radical stages.

one of the biggest reasons I watch the headliners from in front of the roots stage. Bars and bathrooms with no lines are right there.

Yeah my only complaint is same as everyone regarding the bathrooms. The lines for the ones by the food area were never too terrible for me though.
Had a great time, my son and wife actually enjoyed themselves Saturday too.
Code Orange and Yard Act were my Friday faves, gecs and Drain Saturday, and The Cure and TMV yesterday.
Both aftershows were great, but there were a few assholes at the Nothing show that nearly ruined it

Curious to how GY!BE sounded their volume was really, really loud, however it was really clean. usually when you're almost as loud as black sabbath with ian instead of ozzy, you're sound is muffled and muzzled, but gybe was as clear as a bell. the guitarists sat down on chairs, and did not move around. it was more crowded at the stage than spitalfield had been the day before, but not much more. in its own way it was like the vibe the better half and I had of having seen shakti all sit crosslegged at ravinia for two hours when they played there a week and a half ago. gybe would be a more than perfect headliner for the wine and cheese set in highland park next year.
