What’s everyone’s fastest mini time tho? 28 seconds in the past week. I don’t think I’ve ever timed under 20 seconds. 21 seconds on Monday’s Mini. Probably doesn’t get much faster than that for me. |

New PR for Monday (5:20) - certainly helped that the three longer clues were geared towards this board’s interests. Best my Monday PR by six seconds. Had some difficulty closing out Sunday. Saturday was a beast for me this week. |

Thursday was a doozy. Figured out the theme quickly enough, but some of the clues flummoxed me - “2/“ in particular. Took me over an hour to finish. Didn’t help that I left the clock running while looking up at the NFL draft multiple times…

I'm just going to drop in to talk about the March 31/April 1 combo discussed here a month ago. Finally got those puzzles in the CST this weekend.
The Friday was complete in 31 minutes, but my wife gave me a help on the clue about the toy piano player. I was focused on it being ChicoMarx. D'oh. Once pointed in the right direction everything else fell into place. Saturday was a breeze, 17 minutes.
While I'd love to participate in these discussions, any workaround would mess with the family dynamic of doing the puzzles as they arrive in the Chicago papers.

Thursday and Friday both gave me fits. Still trying to get through Friday. Surprisingly, I had a much easier time with Saturday. Weird week.

9:30 today - that was a fun breeze. Loved the bit of Remembering Some Guys in the SE corner.
Yesterday annoyed me because I had all the right answers but wasted several minutes before realizing that it wanted me to change the syntax of my rebus squares. Laaaaame.

Finished Friday in 16:26 which is a new PR (and better than my Thursday PR). Fwiw, the accompanying column notes that this constructor has previously done early-to-mid-week puzzles; perhaps that explains why this one was such a comparative breeze.
Also, shoutout to 49 Across, one of my favorite sitcoms.
