Do you do the crossword every day? Every day except Saturday. I think I've solved one Saturday puzzle.
What's your fastest Sunday time? 43:32
What's your fastest Monday time? 6:51
Do you ever "cheat"? If so, how? I always try to avoid any outside help and I never use the check feature that's built into the app. I probably check the spelling of an answer maybe twice a week. I almost never ask other individuals for help. Maybe twice a month I will refer to the solving tips before I'm finished. But I always feel dirty when I do that.

Not really. On a rare occasion I’ll double check a spelling or make sure I have the right name if I think it’s holding me up. Those have gotten less frequent.

I have a NYT Sunday Crossword omnibus.
There are a few I solved completely.
I don't time myself. Sometimes if you're stuck, it's helpful to put it down and come back.
I use a dictionary occasionally, or Google for factoids.

Sometimes if you're stuck, it's helpful to put it down and come back. I find this helpful, too. Especially if I work on a puzzle before falling asleep, then have an easier time finishing it in the morning. |

These days, if I know an answer but don't know how to spell it, I'll look it up sometimes. When I was starting out, I'd look stuff up only if I was seriously stumped. |

29:12 for the Friday puzzle. My average is 47:26 - I tried to pretend I was teekoh or monasterymonochrome and turned on TEH JETZ. |

I don't usually do it. I prefer to do them with pen and paper, so my Games/World of Puzzles mags and New Yorkers end up taking precedence. But NYT says these are my bests:
Monday: 4:27
Sunday: 37:51
Not sure for mini. I found evidence (read: braggy text to friend who also does them) of a 22, so let's go with that.

you all really check spelling sometimes? damn that's like the whole point of a puzz. for me the point of a puzzle is a stimulating moderately challenging leisure activity so if I'm truly stuck for a while and resolving a question about a square will help me move on to enjoying the puzzle again then I don't really care. obviously less satisfaction at the end when that happens but it's better than banging my head against the wall on principle. |

I am terrible at crosswords and do need to cheat, and I really don't feel bad about it. Still kind of fun and a distraction.
I completed the NYT Magazine crossword a couple weeks back without any need for assistance and I was on cloud-fucking-nine for the rest of the day.

New PR for Monday (5:20) - certainly helped that the three longer clues were geared towards this board’s interests.
I also had a much better than average (for me) Sunday time this week (50:53). Again, the theme clue was in the board’s wheelhouse, plus some crossword classic which I would mention by name if I knew how to easily spoiler tag on mobile.
