It's tough to care about the directors they announce since most of them get fired anyway. It's like caring about Morrissey announcing a tour date

For real though with the fan backlash from TLJ I doubt Disney lets any director regardless of credentials alter the formula too much.

I was incredibly bummed out and disappointed by TLJ so I haven't followed anything about this Han Solo movie other than 1 trailer. But I'm going to see it this weekend with super low expectations and hope for the best.
The last movie really soured me on the whole Disney version of Star Wars and I was all in before that, so hopefully they can get some semblance of mojo back.

I am not passing critical judgment on the film because it's subjective - it just wasn't the movie I wanted. And I will qualify that by saying that I pretty much follow everything SW related and still read the books (!!!) on work plane trips because I'm a huge dork.
I'm not going to relitigate why it didn't work for me - just hoping that SW and I can get back in sync with this one.

Between the expanded Toy Story area and Star Wars land, Hollywood Studios is looking to be a much better park. Still sad that the Great American Movie ride is gone though.
Has anyone done the Avatar shit yet? My sister in law lives near Orlando and I really wanna go see the Avatar shit

We're taking the kids this weekend. Having enjoyed FA, TLJ and Rogue One, I expect I'll be sufficiently entertained if not blown away.

Echo that the big Avatar ride is one of the coolest things I've ever rode
But the wait times are ridiculous so it's hard for me to recommend. My sister made me wait in the line with her to ride it or I never would have. We got there 30 minutes after park opened just for park guests and had to wait over 3 hours.

Yeah I think I waited 2 hours in standby when I didn't use a Fastpass but the queue line is so cool!

Google spoiled the same thing, if it is what I think it is. I typed in 'solo' and it popped up as the suggested common search thing lol. It is a very small cameo but I assume they're setting it up for the Obi-Wan movie?
I actually enjoyed this one overall. It still has incredibly baffling pacing issues but it is the most 'fun' of the Disney SWs and I liked Alden's interpretation of Han Solo - this is something like 11 years before New Hope, so I found it easier to swallow his slightly more brash performance.

Gah, I don't know when I'm gonna see it so it's gonna be tricky to avoid any spoilers. We wanted to see it with my dad, but I don't know if that's gonna happen.
