I am definitely not going to get into the JJ/RJ debate on 7/8. And I mean that in the sense that people probably want different things out of a SW movie and I respect that.
In terms of the blame - Kennedy was the one in charge. I mean, there was no Lucas and someone needed to be in charge and it 100% was her. She was the one meddling with all the director changes and all that, and ultimately it all rolled up to her.
Agree with the idea that they should get good directors to do stand alone projects. And Filoni and Favreau should be allowed to do whatever they want.

I think the best thing they could do at this point is to abandon the main story-line and maybe even to some extent the main characters of the 9 main movies. with the exception of the Kenobi film (which i think is on indefinite hiatus cause covid) are they planning on anymore of these? sincere question. i haven't kept up with SW news since seeing 9 in theaters. much as i enjoy rey, finn, and poe, i can't imagine there's much demand for knowing what they do next. seems like for better or worse, 9 closed the book on everyone that could have a spin-off. NO ONE POST A JAR JAR MEME, I SWEAR TO GOD *sobs in Kyle katarn*

I really can't think of a character side story I'd like to see over a whole new idea. The only thing I can think of is a two hour movie of Darth Vader doing what he did at the end of Rogue One.

The Mandalorian is pretty much exactly what they should be doing with exactly the right people. And it predictably rules.

And I'd pay to see what Rey is doing after episode 9 but only because another female fronted Star Wars movie/series would drive so many of the shitty fans crazy.

tbh i think unless we let george run it there should not even be an attempt at a massive multi-film arc get young and good directors and let them go buckwild with the star wars property without being tied to some jj abrams shit is the future i'm on board with this too in retrospect actually i did find myself thinking last night that having Lucas on board for 7-9 would've been a saving grace. he should never touch a camera again but having a guiding hand on the rules of the universe, the history of old characters, etc. would've done a lot of good Lucas can be good if there is a filter for his stupid ideas. Like he comes up with a lot of good stuff and could probably come up with a good overarching plot and keep things in line but he needs someone to filter out his bad ideas and write the scripts for him (don't ever let him write dialogue again). A lot of the problem with the prequels was that he had no one to tell him no around. Getting him involved on the sequel trilogy as a producer role, filtered through talented directors and writers, would have been a good idea.

Make a new star wars trilogy directed by Polanski, Allen, and Bryan Singer.

Make a new star wars trilogy directed by Polanski, Allen, and Bryan Singer. I was just going to suggest handing the reins over to Zack Snyder, but this is better.

The Disney Gallery: The Mandalorian series seems super indulgent (an 8 part documentary about an 8 episode series) but hearing Dave Filoni talk about The Phantom Menace and tying it into the entire story-line was some incredible shit. Also cool is seeing the diverse set of directors they got for the show compared to the history of old white guys directing previous Star Wars content.

Season 2 Episode 1 of the Mandalorian was everything I could have hoped for. Jon Favreau has been so incredible for Star Wars.

Between the spiders and the child eating some poor frog woman's last eggs that was a real uncomfortable episode.

S2E3 was incredible. I'm sure their are a lot of fans who've only seen the movies wondering who the hell Bo Katan is... And why she is after the darksaber... And what the hell is the darksaber anyway... And who is Ahsoka Tano? but I was geeking out the entire time. Damn them for making me wait another week for the next episode.

I don't know the details behind this, but as a huge BSG fan, I was thrilled to see Katee Sackhoff in this. I'm sure we'll see more of her this season. I aslo have to say I never cared about the Fetts in the movies, but right now I would rank this series around the Last Jedi and Rogue One in the Star Wars universe (those rank 4th and 5th for me)
