This is worse than the two-story tower. Left side green is the best spot to park it and basically always where my group ends up relaxing for headliners we’re not super into. Pretty into the lineup, been joking with my friends for years that I am dead certain that Jai Paul is going to headline next year and I feel vindicated. Far and away the best billing. Friday and Saturday are pretty solid, and I don’t really have much time to go to concerts anymore so I’m happy to pack it into two days (Hailu Mergia is almost enough of a reason to tempt me to go on Sunday but the rest of that day is so limp).

Front right side of the Green stage is the place to be since you also have a great spot for the Red stage

I assume since we’re split on whether this is good or not this will sell out soon. Still gonna wait. What wacky shenanigans will I get into to save $100 this year

I don’t know, maybe civilians will be super into this lineup, but given the reaction from the live music sickos, I would feel confident about the ability to buy a last minute ticket for a discount.
Also kinda surprised at the severe backlash to Sunday. Brittany Howard’s solo show is a ‘70s-style soul extravaganza. I figured at least some faction of the board would be into it, especially given the enthusiasm from last year’s ‘70s albums exercise.

We are all getting our '70s-style soul extravaganza with the Black Pumas on Friday night!

There are all of like 4 acts I’d want to see that day.

She did a pretty good set at lolla a few years ago but I feel like she’s done a lot of shows in Chicago in the last couple years, which might be where some of the lack of enthusiasm comes from for people. As it stands I wouldn’t go Sunday just for her and Alanis

you can't tell me this festival would look worse with Widespread Panic and Turnpike Troubadours headlining. Um, yes I can

Brittany Howard will rule. Grandmaster Flash is there for Christ sake. Mannequin Pussy….everyone is going to be into them by then. And honestly Alanis isn’t even a terrible headliner. This lineup does not blow my mind, but it is certainly a more than decent festival lineup for 2024.

Regarding Black Pumas…..
When do we think Pitchfork books headliners? Because I think it is absolutely bonkers that they booked a headliner whose album they neglected to even review just THREE AND A HALF MONTHS AGO.
Nothing here really bothers me per se, I just have a lot of questions about what Pitchfork even is anymore.

Seen speculation online even from active P4k freelance contributors that CN played a role in this booking. Also seen speculation that it was the result of a late drop. Idk. I don’t think it’s crazy that they could’ve been added recently-ish.

So you are looking for the festival to book #rare acts that you haven't heard of? I mean, yeah. I used to have to do my homework for this fest. I definitely haven't gotten any cooler, so... Like, hasn't Pitchfork always been the "cool" fest? The Alanis Morissette booking is the complete antithesis of what the festival has been. Will Sarah McLachlan be headlining Sunday of next year's fest? Along with The Cardigans, why can't they throw a ton of money at Elastica to get back together?

I think Justine is a painter now in California? Or Colorado?

With the way it's billed, does it mean a solid chance Carly Rae and Jessie Ware are playing against each other at the same time? Or is the blue stage closer usually not one of the top names?
Because if those two conflict this lineup loses a ton of points
