Rosalia, should 1000% headline this thing. Idk if that’s too big of a booking for Fork, but if they don’t want to put up comped tickets, that would definitely be a sell out day.

Feel like she's too big. The only way this happens if she takes a break and doesn't release any music for a while and plays it during an off year for her when hype dies down similar to when Kendrick played two years after GKMC and Chance playing two years after Acid Rap and Vampire Weekend playing two (three?) years after Contra, etc. Even in this situation she could still be too big.

She is supposedly very expensive to book and by my extremely rough estimate is 2-3 times more famous than any of this year’s headliners. Would be surprised if that happened

Mitski played last year so I would hope she wouldn't be headlining again so soon.

Hot take - Pitchfork Festival Chicago takes a break in 2024. Daaaamn attendance was that bad, huh? Wouldn't mind them rolling back ticket prices and going with accordingly smaller scale headliners, but idk if that would make sense for them.

The attendance wasn't that bad and Bon Iver was plenty packed yesterday but they really gotta book more high energy music festival-y kinda stuff during the day. It's really becoming a festival where for the majority of people there have no reason to come before 6:30 which cant be a sustainable business model.

I feel like they already scaled back on both the headliners, and also the numbers of acts and draw of the undercard as well. If they scaled back any more I'm not sure the fest still works.

Yep and while doing that they increased prices by a decent amount. It's a very odd business model.

Correct. It's their problem attendance is dropping - shouldn't end up being my sacrifice.

If we can't have Pitchfork festival with big headliners and affordable tickets than I have to ask, what's this life for?

It's really becoming a festival where for the majority of people there have no reason to come before 6:30 which cant be a sustainable business model. This is a great point. We've been getting there between 2pm-3pm every year for like a decade, and it used to be a pain in the ass waiting in line to get in if it was closer to 3. Post-pandemic it's been a breeze.

Can they take me higher with a better lineup? You bet. But I still had a good time this year.

I think the only time I waited in a line of more than like two people long all weekend was while trying to get food during Koffee's set.
