I think this fest would sell so poorly that they would have to go on hiatus Alanis plays sheds and Nick Cave plays small arenas in America. That's bigger than what they have been booking lately.

I hope the NCATBS show here is GA I hope it is not pitchfork. I think Chicago Theater, Salt Shed, or Auditorium will happen. Nightmare scenario is he books the Aragon. Can't see him booking UIC or Wintrust again but I have no idea how it sold in 2020. I had a ticket

Even if Nick Cave can't or didn't sell out hte UIC arena, he still could easily sell out a night or even two at the Auditorium/Chicago, which is the usual P4k headliner level. So his night would sell just fine. But I agree with krentist that he'll most likely end up at one of the other venues instead (I could easily see him at Salt Shed with the way their schedule has gone)

I would be happy to see him at Pitchfork except I would prefer he play longer than 90 minutes.

Nick Cave at Pitchfork sounds awful.

Nick Cave at Pitchfork sounds awful. Falco and I saw him together at Coachella and the man fuckin forced Red Hot Chili Peppers campers to hold him by the feet in the air while he did "Stagger Lee" and it was one of the highlights of the weekend and I think him making the Pitchfork crowd do something similar would be worth the price of admission

Any shot D'Angelo got booked for this year? I know he was on the lineup last year before it leaked and he presumably freaked out. Big get.

It can’t be three old straight people.

It is kind of wild this year how little we know about the headliners. Usually in the past there are obvious gaps in tour dates for some of the headliners and subs and this year it's just Alanis with some open dates in the area around Pitchfork.

It can’t be three old straight people. Maybe Nick and Warren will come out before the festival.

They have a new VIP ticket level for $700 too, which means blocked off areas for VIP in front of the main stages now

So they're building a 2 story VIP viewing area right in the center of the main staging areas. What a bunch of cornballs. No wonder this company is going under.

That two story viewing area front and center sounds bad

Post by mookie on Mar 11, 2024 13:28:44 GMT -6
Aren't these two story things just going to be like a level added on to the soundbooth?

That seems like VIP is going to take up a lot of area in an already small field.
