I am glad this thread exists. i am too pretty sure I am 2.0 basically golden ticket hunted from 2007ish. didn't meet anyone until 2010 board meet up at Gman. Jay and *he who shall not be named* were trying to sell me on attending a mini Kiss show or some shit like that when I returned to DFW

It's too bad that bracket I did in 2012 of "favorite boarder" is lost to time. I lost to hulk in the first round and arbee won the thing (I wanna say he faced genghis in the final but again, that is lost to time, unless kamera finds it in the wayback machine or something) I’m pretty sure I lost to hansford in the quarters. :/ If not, it was to alady in the semis which feels much better.

I made it to the semis? Wild.
Also wild was golden tickets. $60 for a 3-day, right?

I was able to snag golden tickets 2007, 2008 and 2009 apparently. That was lovely.

Theres an entire subgenre of music that's just British people taking and it's adored by this board and imo that's worse than Morgan Wallen

I've seen a lot of country and western music since the first farm aid in champaign-urbana in 1985, but I have no desire to ever be in the same space as morgan wallen. Aldean is a schmuck, but even he has some early work that's kind of ok. can't say the same for wallen.

Kentist or whatever isn't doing a bit- I told him how stoked I was for Yard Act @ Riot Fest 20 minutes before set and with zero hesitation told me even if someone paid him to go, he wouldn't. He's wrong, but, you know, it's good to have beliefs Edit- nanatod what's your take on eric church and also what happens if I @ this nanatranslator thingy

Edit- nanatod what's your take on eric church he was a nice fit on 2009 lolla friday on the bmi stage after zap mama at petrillo and leann rimes at kidzapalooza, too bad I missed bon iver that afternoon. and, church was good at the country throwdown tour at tinley in 2010 where montgomery gentry headlined. he's not merle haggard or tom t hall or roy acuff, but he's good enough in today's mainstream country music.

Ones I can think of for me: Not proud of: John Mayer solo at Schubas opening for Glen Phillips Matchbox 20 at Schubas
More proud of: Lady Gaga at that set at Lolla that nana was at too Modest Mouse at the Bottle before they broke big The National at Schubas on Alligator Ben Gibbard at Schubas right before Postal Service/Tranatlanticism Motion City Soundtrack and Howie Day at separate shows as openers before they were known

What are good “the board saw this before it was popular” or whatever shows REM on the tour for reckoning. Radiohead after they released the Bends. HIllel Slovak playing guitar for RHCP a couple of months before he overdosed and died. The board wasn't at any of these shows, but former board member Atomic did see REM on the east coast when I saw them in the midwest on that tour.

We didn’t really watch the sets, but we encountered a few white rappers back in the day that ended up pretty big.
