Haven't really been into the genre in years, but I watched the IDLES set for KEXP yesterday and I'm hooked. I've listened to the album like five times in 24 hours.

Decided that I’m not combining my EPs and albums lists. I can see the value in doing a “best of releases” list, but I personally gave a hard time giving them equal weight.

I think this year really blurred the line between the two

teekoh can do whatever he wants. The reason I'm doing it this way this year is b/c of bosma's point. Grouper, Kanye, Kids See Ghosts, Pusha-T, and Earl just as examples all released EP length "albums" so splitting them doesn't make sense to me anymore. Plus I think a separate Best EPs list would be pretty inconsistent.
So if you don't want to combine them, that's totally fine. I just won't be counting anything after 50. So long as we're on the same page, it's all good.

mine isn't explicitly EP's because like you said, Pusha is an EP but it's on my albums list. i view my separate list as more like "miscellaneous" stuff. im not gonna integrate most of it. it's mostly just like "hey in case you didnt know, minsk released 2 good songs this year on a random split no one listened to" i might move a few up that have become more full listening experiences to me over the year (some of Thou's stuff, the new AFI ep etc)

That session convinced me to finally get tickets for their spring tour. Fun fact - Shame's KEXP session also convinced me to get tickets to their show back in October, and that ended up being the best punk show I saw this year.

Is there any support for moving these deadlines back? I know at least for me there’s a lot of stuff that has been released recently that i’m still getting to, and there is still new music to come (For example: Ariana has a new single tomorrow).

I would be in favor, but wouldn't want to put any extra pressure on Tim. If possible, that would be great.

I'm not opposed to the idea. Another week? or just a few days?

I’d appreciate a deadline shift as long as it doesn’t inconvenience Tim.

I know another week would be really helpful for me if that works for Timbo.

Feel free to extend the songs by the same amount - I ought to have plenty of time to tabulate, etc. during the holidays.

I'm also very in favor of pushing the deadline back a bit. I was starting to get a little bummed that some of the stuff I just started listening to wouldn't get a fair shot at making my top 50.

Is John Coltrane - Both Sides Now eligible? Isn’t it technically a reissue and not a new album? I assumed the same thing about that Prince album
