For $12 the toppings should include a beer and another hot dog.

Setlists from both shows. Looks like Moses Sumney was theoretically supposed to come out during Born to Beg as well which would have been neat.

Mikey's Late Night Slice isn't good let's stop talking about them and their weird sauces.

My food option was driving to my host and falling asleep. Also the food inside the fest wasn't particularly bad if you got the right thing, just fairly overpriced I think. I got the taco bowl yesterday and it was good but just not $12 good. Everything else was just alright for the most part. Yeah, I had the veggie one and it was fine, but not for $10. Ashley got one of the hot dogs an it was okay, too, but like $12. $8 for the Rhinegeist cans is dumb, but the prices for the big draft pours were fine. Ended up drinking a lot of beer, though. I also had the veggie taco bowl and thought it was fine. Felt like it was mostly lettuce, so it wasn't as filling as I'd have liked. Got a falafel sandwich later, which kicked ass, but was also pretty overpriced. The only things I complained about on the survey were the prices and the lines on Saturday. Otherwise, 10/10 would fest again

I hope that Livenation reads the board because if they threw a $12 hot dog on top of that $20 no fee ticket deal, I might have to finally jump on those Steve Miller Band / Peter Frampton Northerly tix.

Well I'm dollar cost averaging here. I feel like the $12 hot dog is headlining, so you really need to only get like $8 worth out of SMB as a sub to break even, and that factors Frampton at zero. It's close. I didn't say it was a slam dunk. I'd probably need more info on the hot dog and maybe what the condiment situation was.

You get ketchup/mustard/relish available in packet form, and one of those onion dispensers you rotate to make chopped onions come out. The employees behind the concession stand have access to kraut and grilled onions, but you have to wait in line (it's a different stand than where you got the hot dog) and ask, and even then they might not give it to you since those are supposed to served with the $14 brats.

Seems like entirely too much $ and effort just to hear “Jungle Love”.

Found the surveillance footage of me walking into the Jefferson Saturday night to see if it was a good spot to meet up after the fest

The Roti Rolls were the only thing I really liked that I tried, found them to be really good and not awfully overpriced either. Otherwise everything else available seemed pretty average quality with high prices.

That was an A+++ weekend though. They did an excellent job putting that fest together for a first time festival. Like I said, my only minor complaint is I would have liked it if some of the restaurants/food trucks at the fest were actually from Cincy. And having some food options by the East stage would have been nice too.
Favorite sets: 1. National Sunday (GEESE OF BEVERLY ROAD) 2. Julien Baker (absolutely beautiful, perfect set) 3. National Saturday 4. Feist 5. FJM
Really great to meet thebosma and our new friend post too. Huge thanks to thebosma for driving me back across the river each night too.
Other best parts of the fest: 1. Neader shouting the lyrics to every Julien Baker song as loud as possible next to me 2. Bryce Dessner (I think that was Bryce) shouting out to the board 3. The weather. Pretty much perfect for me all weekend, just wish I wasn't lugging my coat around all of Sunday 4. Aaron Dessner walking through the crowd of the east stage at the 4:00 set and pretty much no one even noticed 5. How easy it was to get in and out of there each night.
I would be thrilled if this fest comes back next year, I'll buy a ticket in a blind pre-sale again.

So maybe I missed it, but what did they say specifically board related? Was it like when Greg Dulli was making Grant Hart jokes at Lolla 2012?

they were thanking a bunch of people, the city of cincy, their families, the company that helped them put the fest on, and the board.
no other details, they definitely weren't talking about some city board of board of trustees and definitely meant us

Yeah as far as show rankings go I’d definitely put it at 1. National Sunday 2. National Saturday 3. Feist 4. Julien Baker 5. FJM
I do applaud their setup because it led me to see a bunch of artists I wouldn’t have seen otherwise. Seeing Lisa Hannigan’s set was really cool. The Garcia Counterpoint was really neat too, though the other two Counterpoint pieces were just ok. Spank Rock was hilarious. Not sure anyone else was in the park yet but his DJ is named DJ Delish and he’s great. Delish rapped about fucking a guy and then finding out he had kids and dumping him which was really funny, and also led the crowd in a chant of “ORGASM” which was also great. It was really easy to get into the fest both days when I went first thing. No real regrets surrounding that. I didn’t care for Future Islands all that much. I wasn’t too familiar with their music beforehand but every single one of their songs sound the exact same and the set got harder and harder to get into as it went on.
As I said before, it was a pleasure meeting everyone and I will definitely be at this fest next year if it happens (as will E, lineup depending). I am not thrilled to go back to work today because putting a dress shirt on this sunburned body is less than thrilling and my legs are still freaking out on stairs.

Speaking of which, another favorite moment was when the Julien superfan in front of us heard neader say Julien was the whole reason to come to the fest, the superfan said "he's right." I had to turn to him and say "don't tell him that." I don't think the guy got the joke.

I've seen them twice now and kind of agree with this. They're objectively good and Sam is an amazing front man but musically it's just not my thing. But for some reason I absolutely love Seasons.

Nothing against neader, but this sounds legitimately awful, given how quiet crowds for Julien Baker shows tend to be....how did it make your best moments list?

That dude was also notably the one who was spooning his girlfriend 75% of the fest and kept trying to talk to Neader and I earlier in the day, while he was spooning his girlfriend in front of us on the hill. Neader was pretty drunk already and loudly said “Why is that guy trying to fuckin talk to us?”

1. the National (Boxer) 2. the National 3. Father John Misty 4. Julien Baker 5. Future Islands
But that can't help but be misleading, I didn't see a single bad set all weekend long.
Cold fests forever.
