ended up skipping out on tears for fears/hall and oates despite having a ticket tonight
had a work dinner, as we were ordering dessert i checked the event page and someone posted 15 mins before that that tears for fears were on the stage and they were really all who i wanted to see. no way i was going to make it in time.
oh well, only $15

Donating blood for the first time in years today, really want to get back into the habit. i'm donating today too, but i've kept up the habit for years... every 56 days. do you all get anything for donating where you are? our blood institute in okla gives you a free t-shirt and other things at different times - like today it's a special event sponsored by the pork council - free pulled pork sandwiches and tickets to the zoo.

I need to look and see if I can donate. I did it all the time in college, but haven't really since.

U of I would do that the few times i donated in college. not sure if anywhere in Chicago has that but it would certainly be a good motivator i'm comfortable saying that i'm a terrible person

Very good chance, but I have no clue! I'd settle for getting another keychain with my blood type on it.

I am what they used to call a universal donor (turns out not everyone can actually use it, though most can) so I probably should donate more often. I am just so damn lazy though. :/

Last time I donated blood they missed the vein about 4 times. My arm swelled up pretty bad.
I'm just generally not a fan of needles, and that didn't help.

I never have donated blood and I'm not even sure of my blood type. I would like to get into that habit though.

Fun fact: I've been complemented several times on the size of my veins by these same people who get all stabby with the needles. Never been an issue when I've been in a hospital, but I apparently keep getting the noob who has no idea what he/she is doing.
