I just watched The Fly and The Brood back to back and I think maybe on the Hi Fi list I submitted last week the Brood should be higher. It's really really a remarkable movie. Horrifying and sad.
The Fly, as Rango said, is fucking disgusting. But it's very touching all the same. He's so precise that you scarcely notice he's managed to pull off that kind of balancing act. It's all so matter of fact.
We're now coming up to a point in the marathon where I haven't seen most of the films coming up until we get back to Spider. Just Dead Ringers and Crash and beyond that it's all new to me.

I've mentioned this before, but my parents let me watch The Fly when I like 10. I remember thinking, "whoa, this is gross!" (translation: "this is cool!")

Elisabeth Moss is a good actor. The Invisible Man is not a good movie.

guessing theatrical moving from december to february ate into their window, but just a guess. obviously very smart to drop the movie on streaming now. it will be available for VOD rental in april.

1. Videdrome 2. The Brood 3. Dead Ringers - Prob a strong argument to this being the best one but the Brood was just such a sick first time view that I can't move it. Such an unsettling and disturbing experience and Jeremy Irons is just out of control good. The tools are maybe the coolest thing in a hour movie [img src=" ![](https://static01.nyt.com/images/2016/06/18/watching/dead-ringers-watching-recommendation/dead-ringers-watching-recommendation-superJumbo-v3.jpg) " alt=" "] 4. The Fly 5. Rabid 6. Shivers 7. The Dead Zone 8. Scanners 9. Fast Company 10. Stereo 11. Crimes of the Future
