Did a quick scan through your 2010s films that you've seen and it would probably be worthwhile to check out Phantom Thread and/or Parasite, but you do have a lot of the heavy hitters on there Turns out, this was really good! I'm having vivid flashbacks to sitting at Caspian back in September explaining how you would be very into it. I'm glad you liked it!

1. Videdrome 2. The Brood 3. Dead Ringers 4. The Fly 5. Naked Lunch 6. Crash 7. Rabid 8. Shivers 9. Spider - This is a great movie but just unrelentingly grim. Honest, heartbreaking, difficult, almost non pulpy weirdness to distract. A very good movie I don't plan on watching again any time soon. 10. M Butterfly 11. The Dead Zone 12.Existenz 13. Scanners 14. Fast Company 15. Stereo 16. Crimes of the Future

this has been sitting on my dvr for at least six months. it's one of those movies that i've always heard great things about because i've enjoyed movies inspired by it. there were a few scenes like the train robbery that were familiar because i figured i'd caught a few minutes on tv before. but when i went to rate it, i saw that i'd already done so... in 2012. i had completely forgotten 95% of this movie in that time.

Criterion should've used that Thief poster as the cover art for the DVD.

He would still be required by statute to report the proceeds of his robberies on his tax return.

also, the statute of limitations (for criminal things) doesn't begin to start running until the tax return is filed.
Usually, but not always, if the irs hasn't come after the taxpayer when 3 yrs has passed since the tax return is filed, they won't come after the taxpayer.

The acoustic Cassidy from 10/31/80 on this set of shows is unreal. I'm not sure if that's one of the ones on the DVD or not

A History of Violence and Eastern Promises. I forgot how off the beginning of History feels. Such a choice but it works IMO. Most people probably would not go for it like that. DC for president. Someone please fund him.

well if anyone wants a last minute twist in your decades list, this movie is absolutely FUCKED. visually astounding and the score is great. concept is brutally horrific but the actual gore factor is basically nil. all psychological and all incredibly upsetting.

I watched "All of Me" which has some very good Steve Martin physical comedy and a very bad caricature of a swami played by an Italian guy

I watched "All of Me" which has some very good Steve Martin physical comedy and a very bad caricature of a swami played by an Italian guy this movie also features a scene where a woman reveals that she's been faking her orgasms, complete with reenactment. Now that's one of those things that you used to see all the time and don't hear much about anymore.

I think I saw this in junior high. I didn't think it was much funnier now than I did then, but I laughed at every single line Bill Murray has in this. Hits and misses all over everywhere else, though. 1. Short Cuts 2. The King of Comedy 3. Rashomon 4. Ace Ventura: Pet Detective 5. The Game 6. The Hunt 7. Thief 8. Detour 9. Yojimbo 10. Lady Snowblood 11. Friday the 13th (1980) 12. The Seventh Seal 13. The Man Who Knew Too Much (1934) 14. The Invisible Man 15. Tootsie
16. Friday the 13th Part II 17. Dan in Real Life 18. Sonic the Hedgehog 19. Branded to Kill 20. Coherence 21. Junior 22. Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: The Movie 23. Under the Cherry Moon 24. Terminator: Genisys
